She would NEVER have allowed social safety nets to be "on the table."

"...whether it’s here, in the absolute best embassy in the world, or whether it’s in Washington, or whether it’s elsewhere, what a difference one woman can make. And that woman is right here, the woman who needs no introduction, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton." 07.05.10 - Unidentified speaker, Embassy Yerevan

"I deeply resent those who attack our country, the generosity of our people and the leadership of our president in trying to respond to historically disastrous conditions after the earthquake." - HRC 01-26-10

"So, ladies and gentlemen, I give you your Secretary of State, and perhaps the most respected person on the world stage today, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton." - Jon Huntsman 05-23-2010

“When people attack you, you always have to remember that a lot of what others say about you has a lot more to do about them than you.” – Hillary Rodham Clinton

“Hey, John! Remember that job you wanted? Well, it’s lovely. Buh-bye!”
ahahahahahahaha!!
LOL!!! You captioned the situation perfectly!
hahahaaa!!!
And, so proud of Hillary. Did you notice, not ONE reporter commented about Hillary’s hair-do! They dare not, anymore.
So proud of our SOS.
Plenty commented on Twitter about the headband. LOL!!!
She was trending on Twitter tonight!
Aww, Hillary and Gabby Giffords!
I just saw it again on the replay. Very sweet moment.
She looked so remote and distant when they cut to her during the speech. Like her thoughts were miles away.
he’s getting dangerously close to her ear. back off Barry, that’s Bill’s territory

I would usually say that Bill is probably not all that territorial with regard to Hillary but something tells me that Obama getting too cuddly would get him angry. There is only one “Mr. President” for her, after all.
ya, its his territory

Hillary is a brilliant woman! Close-up on her jewelry:

Ok, I have a question for all of you. The Secretary was mentioned in the speech in the context of everybody working together despite differences. It didn’t bother me, but my mother thought it was in poor taste. What did you all think?
I understand the analogy in the context of the point he was trying to make. I agree with your mom though. HRC was tending on Twitter at the time. People didn’t like the remark. One guy said she had been demoted to “the woman who ran against me.” I never expect particularly good taste from Obama.
I thought it was kind of a strange point to bring up – a little “living in the past”, but my mother was offended. These were her thoughts. “He insulted my president and made that stupid joke. He should leave the comedy to Biden”
But he didn’t say it as a joke. He thought it was a great analogy! He was dead serious. It was shabby.
His wife’s reaction to it was priceless.
what was her reaction?
A look that screamed “See, I told you that wasn’t funny.” Jon Stewart said the same thing about it.
Not surprised, same arrogant pr*ck as always. I can’t STAND him!!!!!!!! How many more years will we have to suffer him??????
I thought that it was self serving and inappropriate. If anything, she didn’t run against him, he ran against her. She was the better known person. He was the upstart who chose to announce his candidacy a month after she announced hers.
I’m sorry, but Obama always has struck me as an arrogant jerk.
As I said, I though it was kind of strange to bring up the last election just as this one is heating up, but the statement didn’t offend me. My mother does not get ruffled by politics, but Obama mentioning ” the woman who ran against me ” angered her, so I thought I’d ask you guys to see if you found it odd, as I did, or if my mom was onto something.
The camera cut to the Secretary as he mentioned her. Her reaction was a little odd too. I hope he warned her about the mention.
I was at the computer and only watching with one eye. What was her reaction? When he mentioned her name I looked, but I only got the image of a flitting smile before the camera moved away from her.
I didn’t see a smile at all. She had her game face on.
I wonder if she thought what I thought: “What a jerk!!!”. LOL!!!
Very good point! Thank you for turning the phrase right side up!
I have never disliked a Democratic president as much as I dislike this man. It’s visceral, I can’t help it.
Oh well, probably 4 more years of looking at his mug on my TV.
He is exhausting. They just showed him speaking in Vegas making a mini-version of his SOTU with “jokes.” You keep waiting for something to be DONE and all you get from him is blah-blah-blah.
Well, how else would he have gotten elected? The only thing he ever ran was his mouth.
