Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of StateTreaty Room
Washington, DC
September 30, 2010
SECRETARY CLINTON: Well, it is a great pleasure to welcome the vice president and foreign minister from Panama here today. I’ve had the opportunity of already working with him. We last met in Lima during the OAS Assembly there, and I’m looking forward to having an in-depth discussion about all of the issues we face.
VICE PRESIDENT VARELA: Thank you, Secretary of State. I’m very happy to be here in Washington today in this meeting with Secretary of State Clinton. The United States is a key partner for Panama, and we can work very closely in the region to make a more secure region. I’m looking forward to – for future agreements to be ratified with Congress in the future, to strengthen our relationship, and make sure that we keep working together to make this a more secure effort for all the people that live here. So, I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to the meeting too.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you so much, Juan Carlos.
VICE PRESIDENT VARELA: Thank you very much.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you. Thank you all very much.

There needs to be a warning label on that look!

LOL! I thought something similar when I saw it. Ye gods! Mme. Secretary! There are PEOPLE AROUND! with CAMERAS!

I think she likes this one.
Just a thought – most of the ones she really likes seem to resemble her husband in some way or another at least vaguely.

That would not be unusual. Yes, I think she likes him.

It’s a weird way to show her devotion, but all of her industrial strength eyelash fluttering looks to be reserved for gentlemen who happen to sort of look like Bill. I guess it’s cute.

I think it’s cute. But the … what’s the word W gave it? “Strategery” is not lost on me, either. She’s as flirty with Davutoglu (who yelled at her in a meeting). When these manly, Big Dawg type men represent countries we have had problems with, the resemblances seem to help her … um … exude pheromones. They are captured.

Ah Dubya, a man with his own dialect. He should’ve released a glossary of terms or something. I have yet to find ‘nuqulure’ in any English dictionary.
As to Madame Secretary’s smart power, I don’t think the fact that Foreign Minister Qureshi’s looks are the reason she puts so much effort into their meetings, but I do think they got him that near-cuddle several months back.

Ah yes, the “hair-touching” moment. NO the looks are not the reason. They just makes it easier for her to exude the pheromones. I think she has a dimension that can’t be photographed. THAT’S the dimension I want to see lead the country for a great big change.

No, looks don’t influence her job performance. I can’t type today. I’m not implying that our Secretary of State is shallow. Quite the opposite.

Nothing shallow about reflex. Some of it could be that. Another component is *how he treats her*. I think she reacts well to sincerity.
What I love about Hillary is her openness. It is part of what makes her work so successful. I love seeing her sort of *eat this job up*, but I want to see her have the chance to spread those wings over ALL the issues, not only foreign policy.
