Americans wishing to submit questions to the Secretary of State when she testifies on Capitol Hill Tuesday will be able to via a new service, HuffPo reports. The SOS will be the first to respond to questions submitted electronically this way.
Who better to inaugurate such a service? Secretary Clinton is solidly behind utilizing the internet and social webs as tools of democracy. Her upcoming testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee will feature a Web 2.0 component “Your Seat on the Dais.” I cannot think of a person more appropriate to be the first to make direct contact with the people of the United States in this manner than Hillary Rodham Clinton. Cool!

I like that pic, her lashes look so long.

I’ve been near her many times because I volunteered for her campaign. I have a pic of her with her arm over my shoulders.
She’s a very attractive woman. Although she hates to hear it, she’s even more attractive in person than on TV and pics. But, what’s more important is her sharp mind, compassion and great sense of humor.
My heart broke when the party decided that an AA man would be more historical than a woman. Hillary should have been our president.

You’re very lucky. Never had the opportunity, myself. The party made a HUGE mistake. It was craziness with the predictable results we are seeing now. Domestic policy in shambles and a foreign policy without the muscle Hillary would have given it had it been her own. Hillary might have sent her SOS to UNHRC, but SHE as POTUS would herself have gone to NATO and the Security Council on Libya by now. He has no teeth.

Yes, they made a big mistake and now were are all paying for it. Experience DOES matter in life.

Experience and/or a clear plan and firm grasp of how to put that plan to use. As a young person myself, I don’t believe that age and experience trump everything. That said, I don’t believe that Obama had that alternative piece – a solid plan plus a realistic view of how to implement it effectively while still keeping it palatable to the public.

It is and was experience. Why should or would a Mubarak or a Gadhafi listen to him? They have children older and more experienced than he is. He was in the Illinois Senate and then two years in the U.S. Senate (mostly spent campaigning for the presidency). Why should people in power for decades listen to him? I just watched Saif Gadhafi on This Week, they’re blowing him off.
That said, the Gadhafis are cooked, but it has nothing to do with Obama. He is clueless and ineffectual. He should never have reined Hillary back on Iran, Hondouras and the Israeli settlements. He was wrong on all 3.

Mubarak has children older than your girl and Gadhafi has been in power for over forty years. It doesn’t matter. An autocrat is not going to listen to her, Obama, or anyone else. They’ve held power so long that they feel entitled to it. Her seven years in the Senate would move them about as much as his two. He needs a stronger message and a better plan when the next despot gets booted from power.
New ideas rarely come from established, experienced politcians. As long as there is more to them than just pretty words, there is a place for young leaders.
