No Public Schedule Posted So Far Today
March 15, 2011 by still4hill
It is not that I am neglecting my unofficial duties, there simply is no public schedule up. I am just as glad since I really think information around this Egypt/Tunisia leg of the trip should be skimpy. Mme. Secretary met today in Paris with Takeaki Matsumoto, the new Japanese FM. Then she departed for Cairo. She briefed the traveling press on the plane. When the press notes are released, I will post them.

Hire the French stylist. Her hair looks soft and pretty with the loose curls.
I see that Wolf Blitzer made the trip.

Yes. I am sure she has a particular stylist when she’s there. Yes, Wolf went along. I have not seen a report yet with HIllary in it. Just switcched to him now. That presser looked tough.

My mother wants a necklace like this one for Easter now. My father and I have been informed.

More like “How badly do you want that new iMac and iPad 2?” She bought me the newest issue of MacLife magazine and then started talking about Hillary’s taste in jewelry.

Sometimes a sacrifice pays off. Look, she’s your mom. I don’t want to talk like it’s a trade-off. Get her what she wants. You won’t have her long. At least you KNOW what she wants. With my mom I batted zero as an adult. Get her what she wants. Many years later, when NOBODY appreciates what you put into your work or appreciates your zeal, sh will. And don’t be surprised if your dad does, too. Get her the necklace. She’ll look and feel BEAUTIFUL in it. It’ll be worth it!

Not quite the issue. I didn’t get to be as calculating as I am all on my own. She knows what she’s doing. Considering my economic status (as someone who is most likely going to see menopause before she sees her next paycheck), the fact that my father will have me shop for him because he hates it, and the increasing issues I’m having with my aging computer, my mother knows exactly how to ensure that she will get a basket full of jewelry some of which she wants me to make her. She knows EXACTLY what she’s doing.

You sound (alarmingly) like the young people in the Middle East and North Africa. Almost just like them. Do you still believe in the man child descended from heaven? Are you ready to expand your horizons? There is a way to accomplish it. There is someone who knows the path.

I’m not in revolt. Bleak of mood and under no illusions about my lack of marketable skills, but that’s all. In the time between my posts I’ve made myself a lovely piece of jewelry, so even though you can’t see me, I promise you I’m smiling. Once I figure out a path I will most certainly see where it leads out of curiosity or conviction. I just don’t see any paths at present.

Ok, I believe you. What kind of jewelry?

I think she looks better with a little less makeup. She looks nice in the Cairo pictures.

Question readers: If you were suddenly appointed Assistant SOS for Public Affairs on a Sunday, would you not hit the ground running on Monday? No Public Schedule at all today. Now, I only post HRC’s part of the schedule. There are 30-40 other officials whose appointments are on that schedule, and nothing was posted today, nor has Mike Hammer (getting used to the name) held a press briefing so far! Not a spectacular beginning! I nominate Discourse to replace him.

Corollary to this, the DPB was sent AFTER 9 pm! Guess who did it. Mark Toner! Geez!

I swear! You would have hit the ground running! He, apparently, is in cement boots at the start line! WTF?

I feel bad for Mark Toner. Not only was he very blatantly passed over for this job, but he’s now doing this other guy’s work as well. That’s really harsh.
