The stunningly attractive Hillary Clinton arrived in Paris from London today to deliver the keynote speech at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Council Meeting and 50th Anniversary Commemoration. The video and transcript of the speech itself was posted earlier, so you can access it by scrolling down on the main page.
If you missed the equally enchanting slideshow of her morning in London with William Hague, it is posted in today’s public schedule as the images were available very early.
I love this outfit! It is nice to see her in some frills. She was back in Discourse’s favorite jacket for her speech at the dinner (also posted earlier) hosted by the U.S. Embassy.
This is another figure flattering outfit. She looks slimmer in clothes like these as opposed to her usual pantsuits.

Vertical effect of the V-neckline and the open jacket with contrast. Very pretty. And her waist is so tiny!

Ah, getting a little flirty with the press corps.

Who better? Well…

I think he’d like her to smolder at him every once in a while.

Well, if she did it in public she would be at serious risk of a heavy-duty PDA. She knows that. She probably was flirting with the cameras for his benefit today, though. Distance makes it safe.

The day she leaves State, I want them to say the hell with the cameras. Just once I’d like to see them kiss like they mean it.

I SECOND THAT!

there’s an anecdote in taylor branch’s book on bill (he taped conversations with clinton over the whole eight years) where the usher won’t let him go upstairs to meet bill for their appointment because the clintons are smooching, lol.
i just finished that book, btw, and would highly recommend it. there are great hillary moments in it.

Picked it up a few months ago. It’s my summer book when I get a few days off.

I have it, too. It is a bit wonky, but then again so am I, so I liked it.

Speaking of Bill, he’s once again out there talking about how what he would do would differ from the perceived path Obama’s on. He seems to still feel the need to point out the differences between Clinton politics and Obama politics. It’s like he wants to run again or something.

Or something….

Well, considering he’s out of terms, I don’t know what he could be up to. By the way, I love how he waits until Obama and his Madame Secretary out of the country to make these little statements.

Well, if it’s no his political career he’s work, what else could it possibly be (while the other Clinton is an ocean away).

And isn’t he unveiling a plan to sort out the issue of jobs (which both parties forgot about) in June aka last call for entering the 2012 race. It really is like he’s campaigning again, but he can’t run. He doesn’t do things for no reason, so he must have something he’s working toward.

Yes, he’s doing a CGI for jobs in the U.S. in Chicago in June.

Not in New York, where he lives and works, but in Chicago. Hmmm… isn’t that someone else’s home turf?

Yep. That’s where! Next month.

It’s Hillary’s home turf. Were you referring to someone else? 😉

So he’s talking about ideas for a better America in Hillary’s birthplace. It sounds so much like a campaign. He really can’t get it out of his system, can he?

actually, his CGI events take place in a number of cities. he just had one in LA not long ago. chelsea led one of the panel discussions, on education.

i read coverage of bill’s comments yesterday but i didn’t see where there was a noticeable divergence from obama. i saw where he warned the dems about ignoring entitlements, even though ryan’s proposal is clearly the wrong approach. makes sense to me!

The divergence is in his recomdation to tackle entitlement programs now. That’s not a very popular idea a lot of the time because people get a little nuts about these issues. I think Obama wants to put this off and wait for a more convienient time. It’s never a good time to try to sort out these programs, but it has to be done. Bill knows that. I’m not sure Obama does.

I saw the footage. Bill told Ryan that he hoped the Dems would not take the Hochul victory as a license to sit back and do nothing about medicare.
I do think very strongly that we need to reclaim the language. We should follow George Lakoff’s advice. Medicare and social security are not entitlements, and we should reject the Republican lexicon on this. We should call them what they are and what we have always perceived them to be: insurance policies, retirement accounts. We are not “entitled” to them. We have spent our lives paying into them.
That they need restructuring and updating is true. But calling them “entitlements” reframes them in a way that the other side now feels free to define. As Bill Clinton (and I ) have always said: Pay attention to words. Words mean things.

I agree. If Democrats were as good at messaging as Republicans, this country would be center left instead of center right.

Woo-Hoo! Go Bill! I saw that report last night. The last paragraph of the article … yikes! Bet Bill can’t wait for Mme. Secretary to be free.

I agree. I don’t think he enjoys sharing her with President Obama. I think he’s sick of being able to say things like this.
“I placed two calls to my wife on that day, and all I was told is, ‘She’s at the White House and can’t talk to you’,” Bill Clinton told CNBC in an interview Friday.’
It was in reference to the OBL (I love reducing him to initials) raid. This is the full article. http://www.newkerala.com/news/world/fullnews-209313.html
I, too, think he can’t wait for her to be out of the administration, so they can do more together. I wonder if she stay involved in politics like he has.

anyone else notice that when Bill is chipper and kind of joking with the press he refers to Hillary as “the Secretary of State,” but when you can tell he’s a little annoyed with things he refers to her as “my wife.” it’s like he’s warning obama that hillary is loyal to him first :p
