In case you cannot see the gift Dr. Merkel presented to Secretary Clinton at today’s luncheon at the State Department, it is a framed newspaper page with a picture of the two of them side by side in pantsuits but without showing their heads. The question was, “Which is which?” Mme. Secretary thoroughly enjoyed it!

@U.S. Senate: Time to ratify LOST!
"... ratify the Law of the Sea Convention, which has provided the international framework for exploring these new opportunities in the Arctic. We abide by the international law that undergirds the convention, but we think the United States should be a member, because the convention sets down the rules of the road that protect freedom of navigation, provide maritime security, serve the interests of every nation that relies on sea lanes for commerce and trade, and also sets the framework for exploration for the natural resources that may be present in the Arctic." -HRC, 06-03-12, Tromso Norway

State dinner pics are coming in. It looks like she’s…in a fight with Mitch McConnell?

Just this one. Want to see more of the gown! I don’t know that she is fighting, but it looks intense. She did speak at the McConnell Center in Louisville last year, so I think they get along.

Is there anyone with whom she doesn’t get along at this point?

Avigdor Lieberman. He is impermeable. Wears antiHillary armor. Never gets too close lest he fall for her wiles.

Ok why, when I read the phrase anti-Hillary armor, did I immediately think of a gentlemen specific piece of sports equipment?
Domestically, I can’t think of anyone who is Hillimmune. I mean Roger Ailes, head of Fox News, wants to hire her.
She also seems to be well received by Republicans, possibly more so than among Democrats or maybe she just gets photographed with Democrats less.

😀 LOL!!!! Well “anti-Hillary armor” seems, by definition, to be male-specific. I had the same thought as I wrote it. I had posted that Ailes article at FB and at least one person thought it was a joke at first. Hillimmunity is not a natural condition. It requires medications or perhaps some kind of prosthesis. I will stop here before I get in trouble. *Must remember MS readers*

Everyone knows who. Won’t mention the name, but he is married to a Clinton daughter who is not Chelsea. That is as far as I go here. There is a baby involved now. Best to leave it alone. Want the mom to be peaceful and calm and assured that everyone wants the best for her, the baby, the family. Want HRC to have a sweet little grandchild in a happy home.

OK! That was honestly NOT who I thought you were referencing. I wouldn’t have asked. I don’t want to get into their private business. I hope the mother-to-be finds respite from this media storm soon and their personal business gets sorted out in time for their child’s arrival. REEEEEEALLY sorry I asked.

This state dinner was a good one for fashion. In fact I think the older American ladies outdid the First Lady this evening. What we’ve seen of the Secretary’s gown indicates it’s lovely (no drapery fabric this time around). Diane Sawyer looked great as well. So far, my favorite is Nancy Pelosi’s. I’m hoping they got a picture of Dr. Biden – who is always well dressed – and a better one of Secretary Clinton.

Didn’t see enough. Diane from the back. Michelle’s gown was good, but I didn’t like her hair – it looked messy. I liked Angela’s asymmetrical look. Didn’t see Nancy and waiting for for the HillBabe from the front. Dr. B. always looks pretty, but I didn’t see her tonight.

I love the pic of Hillary and Angela laughing. When I see them together I ache even more that Hillary is not president.
The green gown looks like it´s lovely. I would love to see the front of it. I´m in Europe right now and they like Hillary a lot around these parts.

It seems like she’s more beloved abroad than at home.

This is Diane Sawyer.

My personal favorite thus far – Nancy Pelosi. It’s very elegant and figure flattering. Also, this is a pretty decent picture of her as well.

Still no pictures of Dr. Biden or a better shot of your girl.
