On this blog there is a long archive which, at some point in August, I began entitling “Media Reads on a Hillary Run.” The comment threads on those posts are chock-full of comments from HRC’s supporters who wish she would run again for POTUS and not wait until 2016 to do so. Many of us are dissatisfied to the point of infinite frustration with the way Barack Obama has squandered his golden opportunity to bring real change as he promised. Most of us did not vote for him and did vote for HRC.
The list of reasons is long, but encapsulated comprises:
1. The Leadership Deficit: Obama’s inability to break the shell of his West Wing office and reach out to the opposition in a human and social fashion. He would have been far more effective with the GOP had he approached them as human beings, had a few people, Boehner, McConnell over for lunch, and given Lisa Murkowski a congratulatory call for her amazing write-in victory, than he proved to be by having them over for secret meetings where he lectured and adopted the stance of “the adult in the room.”
2. The Stalled Car: For a long period last year, he and his speech writers really liked that car metaphor, but the truth was that the car was stalled. It stalled over the Gulf oil spill and the jobs the government could have generated with a CCC type effort to clean up the gulf. In fact, from day one, jobs should have been a priority but were put on a back burner for a badly flawed and wanting health care plan wherein he withdrew the single payer option.
3. The Phenomenal Collapsing President: Every time the Republicans stood shoulder to shoulder, Obama simply laid down on the tracks and gave the GOP what they wanted (or he thought they wanted) before they even demanded it. He was, according to John Conyers, the one who offered up the social safety nets on a silver platter before they even brought up that subject during last August’s budget crisis. The GOP candidates are correct. Obama is an appeaser. Not in foreign policy. He appeases them on domestic issues without even being asked. We have seen almost three years of this!
4. The Hesitation Blues: How long must we wait? Obama left for an August vacay saying he would introduce a jobs bill after he got back .. after Labor Day. Americans who are out of work could not afford that wait. They do not have vacations, and, while Labor Day is a holiday for those of us who have jobs, they have no holidays. It is simply another day when they cannot look for a job. In the foreign policy arena, he waited longer than necessary to establish the No Fly Zone in Libya, and we do know that HRC rounded up a posse to change his mind.
So this evening I have no media articles to prompt this post. Instead I have a short conversation between my friend Rumana and President Clinton this afternoon at a book signing in Chappaqua. Here is Rumana’s synopsis:
I said you should go to S4h FB page and see we are encouraging her. He put his hand on my shoulder and said if lot more people encourage her maybe she will run. I said Mr. President we are talking about 2012 please do something. He said she needs to know you are there for her and I said please tell her. 😉
So this is OUR golden opportunity! Please comment here, but also at the Facebook page. President Clinton, and maybe even our preferred candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton, will be looking there for our encouragement. Let’s go all out this weekend and let her see the support that is out here!
Hillary, may we have this dance? You are the best hope to put this country back on the rails. You are the best qualified for this hands down! We need you! Please, please listen to us. Please run!!!!
HRC 2012!!!! Please run we all need you. HRC for POTUS 2012!!!

Sorry. Mobile device issues. Anyway, it’s worth noting that my mother is not a politics junkie like I am. She’s never gotten really excited about a candidate as long as I can remember. Hillary, for her, is simply the only one worth caring about.
I’m different. A committed Democrat with a loyalty to the party that shares many of my beliefs in the role of government and the kind of society I wish to live in going forward. These Republicans scare me. They dispense with likes of compassion and empathy because there is no way to make money off of it and they can’t see that our country makes no allies by rattling sabers or charging off invading countries with whom we disagree. I can continue this list into next week, but I’ll spare you all and get to the point. I’d like a candidate out there who is both a Democrat and at their full potential. Mr. Obama is a far weaker candidate than he was four years ago. The economy is sluggish at best and, no matter whose administration it started under, the buck stops with the occupant of the Oval Office. I wish I had a stronger candidate to vote for that could actually win the election on the merit of their ideas and policies instead of just hoping the Republican nominee does or says something that makes them lose.

Madame Secretary,
I saw you on the campaign trail in Scranton and would LOVE to be attending another of your rallies soon! You might not know this, but you have a veritable army of people at your disposal all praying for your leadership. Last time around I think we were too complacent; we had all heard about the storied “Clinton machine” and did not know how much you needed all of us to roll up our sleeves and get to work to elect you. We will not make that mistake again. We will work tirelessly in order to have you in the Whitehouse! I will be voting for you no matter what, but hope that I can push the button next to your name instead of having to write you in. God bless you for all you, you are amazing!

I have no animus against Mr. Obama, though I have a great deal of animus against the DNC for putting us into this mess in the first place. A floor fight at the Democratic National Convention in 2008 would’ve produced a victory for Mrs. Clinton; that’s why they wouldn’t allow it. And what the DNC did on 5/31/2008 was reprehensible and I will never, ever forget it.
All that said, Mrs. Clinton was the best candidate by a lot in 2008. She’s now the best candidate by even _more_ in 2012. And if she does not run, our country will be doing so poorly in 2016 that I’m not even sure the wonderful HRC can fix the messes left behind by eight years of nonsense.

Obviously, we die-hard Hillary supporters know that the office of President was rightfully hers in 2008. We remember that the RBC stole her votes and awarded them to Obama. We remember the media bias against Hillary and the ridiculous so-called debates – in which Obama was asked nothing more difficult than the spelling of his name. We still recall, all too painfully, the caucus fraud and questionable election practices – all ignored by media and the FEC. We know without a doubt that the DNC worked to throw Hillary under the bus, and we read the emails and texts from Donna Brazille as she sarcastically told Hillary voters to “stay home” on election day. We heard her declare that women and working class Dems no longer were needed by the New Democratic Party. We know – we always knew that Hillary was the rightful 44th president.
That so many former subjects of King Obama now are asking her to run in 2012 confirms that they also knew she was the legitimate nominee. They denied it. They called for her to quit in 2008. They pushed their empty suit into office, propping him up every step of the way. Media ignored every questionable action, the lack of background information, his sleazy associates, his affiliation with his anti-American church and preacher. No effort, regardless how sleazy and underhanded, was spared in the quest- by MSM, the DNC, the latte-liberals, the ACORNesque groups, and a few assorted dead and /or incarcerated voters – to place Obama in the White House.
With the country in major trouble on many fronts, it’s clear that in awarding Barack the nomination, the so-called progressives and members of the New Democratic Party, and especially, the media, have placed this country in jeopardy. They know Hillary is the leader we need. And, the fact that they turned so quickly to her is clear evidence that they knew she was the rightful Democratic nominee in 2008, as well.
I hope Hillary can be persuaded to run in 2012. The problems we face call for real leadership by a genuine leader, who can make well-informed, tough choices and decisions for our country. She is such a leader. We desperately need her. Hillary has always risen to the occasion. Her love of country cannot be denied. Her compassion for people is unquestionable. Her fight for human rights (including the rights of women and GLBTs) has been unequaled. She knows how direly she is needed. I strongly believe that Hillary will answer the call to run in 2012.

Hillary, we had your back in 2008, and we all would love the opportunity to stand with you again. You asked for support. We gave it. You asked for campaign contributions. We contributed. When more was needed, we dug deeper, some of us even taking second jobs in order to be able to contribute more. You asked us to make phone calls, write letters, blog, and work for you. We did – and with a passion.
We worked our hearts out for you in 2008, motivated by our deep confidence in and respect for you and your ability. That confidence and respect have only increased. Add to the motivators that compelled us in 2008, the deep and abiding outrage over the way in which you were treated during that election – the way women were treated, and you will see a formidable force, a power house, an army of Hillary supporters.
We are more than ready. You tell us what you need, and we’ll find a way to get it. Please give us the opportunity. Please give this country the leadership it needs.

I will do something with this, sister. I will wait till the weekend is over for better traffic. Meanwhile, can you open up the wall on that FB page so people who aren’t on FB any longer due to legitimate security concerns (including myself), can see publicly? You might even want to consider a separate FB page, just thinking aloud.
What I will do is try to get your links distributed to friendly blogs. One of the problems Hillary supporters have is they don’t respond feverishly and aggressively like those Obots do. And they tend to go off separately and do the same thing, so that no FB page or anything else ever gets big enough. With the creds of a conversation with Bill, this is the golden opportunity if only the marketing is there to draw people to one spot instead of dozens of separate spots. A conversation with Bill about this trumps all those other attempts. We can’t let this go by.
Eh, what do you expect from me at just short of 6 AM?

I am quite certain that I speak for 18 million voters – and now so many more – when I say: There has not been a single moment of doubt that you were the one this country, this world, was waiting for, as President and Leader of our beloved country.
Equally as important, both your service as Secretary of State, along with the hope and vision of your becoming our president in 2012, is what sustains millions of women and men during these deeply troubling and uncertain times.
You have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles over the past three years to make a difference – to command respect for the freedoms, rights and security that all human beings should be afforded in our lifetimes.
We are asking you now to come home, stand with America and fight for us – fight with us – in our heartfelt desire and commitment to do whatever it takes to be a nation that can succeed, again, on every level.
We believe in your leadership, because you have dedicated your entire life to public service, driven by a core belief that every society and its government should be “By the People, Of the People, For the People.”
We are those people, Secretary Clinton. We are asking you to lead us in restoring that fundamental, democratic principal to America – for the future of our nation and as example to the world.

Of course Hillary is the best qualified to lead this country as we enter the revolutionary New Age occasioned by the 2012 timeline. Hey, it is clear to anybody who can read between the lines that she is regarded and respected by her colleagues (ministers and heads of government by other states), as a stellar stateswoman who has brought international respect back to the USA, after the dismal years of the Bush administration.
Despite the difficult environment and escalating adversities that beset diplomatic efforts in our time, she always manages to “make things happen”–in a positive way! I don’t know how she can go from gut wrenching decisions and sleepless nights to jovial, diplomatic bonhomie with dispatch and aplomb, but she does. Truly the overwhelming majority (99%) of this country, have no idea of the blessings that her political savvy, skills and connections, has bestowed on this nation.
The only caveat that I would place on my full throated endorsement for her to run against Obama for the Democrat Party nomination, is that I would encourage her to follow her “gut”, her instincts, and intuition, as to the timing, and exact method of angling for the honors and ceremony of an office, for which she already carries the heavy weight of responsibility and grunt work.
This nation is on the cusp of revolutionary change, and while I believe that Hillary Clinton is the ABSOLUTELY BEST QUALIFIED candidate, to lead us through this near future, with a minimum of chaos, instability, and destructive anger, I know that as soon as she declares her intentions, she will be attacked viciously.
She has proven herself to be flexible to adapt to outer circumstance with intuitive wisdom and initiative–I pray (literally!) that those gifts continue to guide her in this upcoming, turbulent year. I know that somehow, someway, she will prevail (because she has quite the impressive track record to prove it)–which is a source of hope for me, and great news for this country!

We cannot afford four more years of drift and decay. We need Hillary to start in 2013, not 2017! And, of course, we can’t have another Republican. Obama is so unpopular right now, and the economy will still be bad on the election day, that we could really end up with a President Gingrich. Yuck! They said Reagan could never be elected, but he was running against an unpopular incumbent, and the economy was better in November 1980 than it will be in November 2012.
Obama’s supporters claimed in 2008 that they were running against the Democratic establishment, they even made a commercial comparing Hillary’s campaign to 1984 (the movie, not the election). Now Hillary’s 18 million+ supporters should show the Democratic establishment what a true grassroots campaign is all about, not blindly follow an unpopular establishment incumbent who is ineffective and hasn’t changed things much because he thinks like a Republican anyway (and who will likely lose to a Republican)!

I am a victim of this economic downturn. I lost my research lab due to low donations, and 1 of my part-time teaching jobs due to state cuts. I am excited to learn the President is finally concentrating on jobs, although I believe a little too late. He was and still is too weak and inexperienced for the HUGE task at hand. Your husband tried to talk to the President early on about job-promoting ideas, however, according to an article in Newsweek by Alter last year, the President did not listen to him much for over a year. Now he is, but too late for many folks now after their homes and jobs ares gone. You would have acted immediately on jobs and more intensely when the Democrats controlled both chambers of Congress. I know you are exhausted but our country is in so much pain, we really need somebody with your unique combination of skills and phenomenal hard work. Oh how I wish President Obama would pull a LBJ and bow out because I know under no other circumstance would you run in 2012. As I whispered to you in Little Rock in October, PLEASE run again.

Dear Hillary, I really want you to run, and I am saying this as a resident from the Netherlands who in the 2008 primaries helped to monitor your massive Facebook wall and helped you win the public vote and conventional delegate vote in the end.
You need to run, cause you have the international weight, goodwill and respect that restores America, plus the Clinton magic that can create the millions of job that can make the economy work again. Mr. Obama obviously can’t.
Your immense popularity in Europe and the rest of the world will help ensure to strenghten the growth of the American economy and your leadership in the world. And in my life I have never seen a current American president so little in the news overhere since he took office. As if he deep down already has enough of being president.
That is why I beg you to run, cause with these economic figures, and the threatening blow up of the euro, financial chaos will reign and also America will be hurt a lot by a default of big economies like Italy, Spain and the whole Euro zone. You can be sure a Republican will win then. UNLESS you challenge Mr. Obama and show the right path and work the Hillary magic and credibility. Only the Clinton name can win in these times of turmoil.

The other commenters pointed out thing the country needs – strong leadership, a clear- eyed and thoughtful approach to our economic situation and our relationship with the international community, and so on. I believe that we also need a dose of optimism. I’m not implying that we should be lead by someone who will simply put a naive, everything’s-coming-up-roses, candy coating on the very real and severe problems we face. I’m talking about someone who can look at the nation, including our problems, and still say that they believe we’re going to continue to be great. This presidential race seems dominated by those trying to pick the national bad guys – the poor are bad, young people are bad, the unemployed are bad, and if we could just get rid of them, we’d be fine – instead of recognizing that it’s problems with the system and not with those in a particular tax bracket that need work. We need someone who can revive the sentiments of a former president, say “there is nothing wrong with America that can’t be fixed by what’s right with America”, and mean it. That kind of intelligent optimism is a trait found in our Secretary of State and I would hope she’d see fit to share that positive outlook with the rest of us.

Pennsylvania voters want President Barack Obama replaced, but are not sold on the list of Republican successors they have to choose from.
More than half, 51 percent, believe Obama does not deserve to be re-elected, compared with 41 percent who do, according to an Allentown Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll of 422 registered Pennsylvania voters.
Yet the state’s voters still favor Obama over the Republicans’ two top contenders, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
In Pennsylvania, Obama slightly edges Romney 45 percent to 41 percent, the poll shows. He bests Gingrich 52 percent to 35 percent.
Against a nameless Republican candidate, 45 percent picked Obama, 37 percent the Republican nominee and 14 percent said their vote would depend on who the GOP candidate is.

Netscape! It’s been unsupported since March 2009. Maybe that’s the problem.

Thank you Still once again and yes I did see your dedication to Harris, He got such a kick out of it, and asked me if you ever dedicated anything to me and I had said no. He was so happy, I think that made him feel special. Now for the last 3 days all your posts have my name in them, I feel special too but I am not of those people who want or need attention.
This is about HRC only, and I want her to run in 2012 with all my heart. I will do what ever she needs to make it happen.

When HRC held her meet-and-greet at The Hague embassy, she told the story of that picture. So cute. Little Toby negotiated where she was to write and then he told her “Only one word.” LOL!!!

Hillary,
I was a bank examiner and have been following the supposed cures to subprime crisis. I am disappointed at the choices made. I know that you would have made more effective choices. The aforementioned crisis has devastated our economy.
I feel that you could stop the dead lock in the Congress and get legislation passed.

Heres the thing- if you are not online in another window with wordpress, your site is asking for registration/e-mail and a user name. I have three accounts with WP.. but wasn’t logged in with WP when I accessed your site. Nevertheless, even after logging in with WP your site recognized my WP account yet my post went into moderation until you fished it out.
I do not have a FB account but liked the suggestion of one of the posters here of leaving the site wide open for easy access. That worked for me..
Can you post updates of how many people are asking Hillary to Run? I hope
it’s in the 100s for startes and goes viral from here on in- We’re all so excited maybe we have a chance of seeing her change her mind- (fingers crossed)

The first time you comment (or if you have multiple media files) you go into moderation. Once a comment has been approved, future comments go in automatically unless there are pictures in the, This is an open blog. Anyone can comment. But they do have to provide an ID and an email address. This site IS wide open. The Facebook account cannot be because FB does not provide that function. There are privacy settings. People have to submit a friend request. I accept everybody at that account.
You have to understand this was completely unplanned. This is the information President Clinton received, so we are doing our best to run with it.
I have no way to count individual posts from separate IDs.
I also have three wordpress accounts and people from all over the world comment on all three.

If you look at that last comment I did that without logging in. All I had to do was submit an ID and email address. That control will have to be there along with the moderation for the first comment. I have received comments that I never would want HRC to see. People will just have to go with those rules.

President Clinton, I hope you can see here that your wife’s supporters are mobilized and have “reloaded” to quote Sarah Palin. We are ready to donate our savings, campaign until we die from exhaustion, and ready to do everything it would take to have Hillary Rodham Clinton be sworn in as the nation’s president on January 20, 2013. Personally, I will drop out of my university for the election season and work from 5 AM to 11 PM or whatever hours may be required to make Hillary the president. During this Great Recession, our country needs to drop its individualistic focus. We need Hillary to save our country from a leader who has good intentions but doesn’t have the heart in the White House. If there’s one thing the country knows is that the Clintons enjoyed the White House. The Clintons are respected both domestically and abroad with average Americans, Republicans, Democrats, and even in hostile nations. Mr. Clinton, please show Mrs. Clinton this website and the dozens of Facebook movements, examine her campaign donations to see the most common donation amount is $20.12, and try to convince her to run for president. She has a 70% approval rating and would wipe the Republicans with the wind shield wipers in 2012. Please, Mr. Clinton. The Democratic Party needs Hillary. The country needs Hillary. The world needs Hillary.

I read that Robert Reich is proposing that Obama dump Biden and run with Hillary as VP. Please tell me it isn’t so. I don’t want to see her be his clown! Obama will lose in 2012 and Hillary can run in 2016! And when Hillary wins, she’ll actually govern.
