As I predicted last March, when Hillary Clinton gave him the keynote at the second annual Chiefs of Mission plenary luncheon, a few moments ago, John Kerry was nominated by President Obama to succeed Hillary Rodham Clinton as Secretary of State. Secretary Clinton was not able to attend the event as she has been ordered to rest by her doctors. President Obama praised her service as Secretary of State. He said he had spoken to her earlier and that she could not be more excited over this nomination. I am glad she is excited. I am relieved.
Andrea Mitchell reported that Mme. Secretary has also been restricted from long duration traveling for the next several weeks. This implies that she might not actually be traveling as SOS at all any more.
Mme. Secretary we hope you are mending well. We are praying for you and thinking of you.
