Someone out there is impersonating Hillary Clinton on Twitter. For about a week now some regulars here have mentioned and discussed in comment threads this mysteriously named Twitter account which some of us began following just to keep an eye on it.

Tweeters who follow celebrities and public figures know that verified Twitter accounts are named with the figure’s name and are verifiable because a blue check on the page indicates that Twitter has verified that the account holder is indeed the figure he/she claims to be. Here is Chelsea’s Twitter page.

Hillary Clinton has many admirers all over the world. It appears that a couple of thousand people following the account might actually believe these tweets are coming from Hillary.
I also looked at the associated “official” blog entitled Hillary Clinton Official Blog Posting Site of Hillary Clinton. Some of the pages are straight off of Wikipedia, and there are five posts total all dated November 10, 2012. Hmmmmm… so very unHillarylike.
1. Hillary knows her own bio and would not need to use wikipedia;
2. Ditto her service as FLOTUS and US Senator;
3. Most tellingly, I do not think any loyal Hillary Clinton supporter can imagine a circumstance under which our girl, between two taxing trips to the Balkans and then to Australia and Asia, would arbitrarily just start a WordPress blog (no less – government employees must use government platforms – this ignorant individual seems not to know this) and then neglect it. If she had started it and chose not to keep it up, certainly she would have deleted it.
Since she opened her new office website earlier this week, we know we have a legitimate place to go to contact Hillary. It is reprehensible that someone is masquerading as Hillary in such a shabby way. You can contact the real Hillary Clinton here, at her true website.
Unfortunately, we can’t report this to Twitter. The fake account does violate their terms of service– you’re not allowed to impersonate someone else– but only Hillary or someone who can officially speak on her behalf (i.e. a lawyer) is allowed to report it.

what do you think about the comedy show “the Office” that will parody “The Office of Hillary Clinton “? Is she going to be on the show or they’ll take her face only?

I’d love to see her in a comedy show at least for once, as Jason G says Ithink she’ll be great and more people would see her warm-funny side and love her and get her more admirers!!!!

Maybe she’ll make an appearance on SNL? That would be fun. She could even host the show. Al Gore did. John McCain did.

I think it would be hilarious, but I’m not so sure it’s serious, either. Although, it’s in an actual paper?! Hopefully, the real news shows will say something about it this evening. Weird, but funny.

If you look in the upper right corner of the page, the WA Times has a disclaimer. I doubt you will hear about it on the news. It’s just a joke. The Office is in its last season. This writer just thought he would write something funny about her new website.

[…] On Februar 7, after at least a week of my friends and I following and discussing the “verified” status of a Twitter account called Verified Clinton but lacking the blue verified check from Twitter, I went to battle against that Twitter account for impersonating Hillary Clinton. At Still4Hill, I posted this first volley: NOT Official Hillary Clinton and UNverified. […]
