Hillary Clinton glowed in an Oscar de la Renta ensemble at Lincoln Center to present him with the Founders Award at the CFDA Awards tonight. These are some early photos. There may be more later, so check back. Some of the pics come from a Daily Mail article. Hillary was her adorable, “hill-arious” self. You can see the video here.
‘I’m going to pitch a show for Bravo. We can call it Project Pantsuit’: Hillary Clinton takes aim at her own signature style at CFDA Fashion Awards
|
Hillary Clinton had America’s fashion elite in stitches last night, during her hilarious speech at the CFDA Fashion Awards.
The former Secretary of State, who got a standing ovation as she took to the podium at New York’s Lincoln Center, took aim at her penchant for pantsuits.
She told the assembled crowd: ‘I’m going to be pitching Andy [Cohen] on a new show for Bravo… we can call it Project Pantsuit.’

Naturally, Mrs Clinton, 65, was wearing one of her friend’s designs. She sported a pair of Oscar de la Renta pants with a long, embellished navy coat and dazzling blue earrings.
Adding this in. You have got to love that header and the picture. That smile! Simply irresistible!
Hillary Clinton Steals the Show at the CFDA Awards, Nabs a Presidential Endorsement
The other easy consensus from the night? Secretary Hillary Clinton stole the show.
While host Andy Cohen had a hard time eliciting so much as a chuckle from the oh-so-serious fashion crowd, Clinton, there to present the Eleanor Lambert founder’s award to her buddy Oscar de la Renta, had no trouble bringing the entire auditorium to its feet.
“Now that I have some more time on my hands I am going to be pitching Andy and others on a new show for Bravo to sort of fill that gap that is so apparent to some of us,” Clinton said, wearing a midnight blue glittering pantsuit by Oscar de la Renta. “We could call it Project Pantsuit.” The crowd went wild. (“Project Pantsuit is totally a go,” Cohen said later on. “Madeleine Albright is doing the first challenge.”)
And the jokes didn’t stop there.
SNIP
And maybe, just maybe, de la Renta and Clinton’s deep bond explains the lack of one he has with First Lady Michelle Obama–who has never worn his designs. Maybe he’s just waiting to dress the President.
Project Pantsuit! 😀
And at the same time Hillary was all glammed up, this blog got a makeover.

She does look rested and happy. She earned the right to relax for a bit – after decades of continuous and exemplary hard work for this country.
The header is wonderful. She looks so small amid those large men. It reminds me of the 2008 pic of her on stage with a group of military brass who were supporting her for President.
The woman is most admired for 17 years and her approval among dems is sky high. I was trolling over at some of the obot sites, even obot central, and they have changed their tune about her. To see those sites defending her is just desserts. We were right then, and we are right now to defend her. Kool-Aid does have an expiration date and it will be totally impotent by 2016.

The article is nice, but the comments are appalling. Nothing new for that rag. Every RW hateful kook comes out to comment every time there’s an article on a Democrat. What’s funny is that it’s a British paper.

Bea, I am convinced we are seeing a repeat of 2008 but instead of paid obots attacking her in every article we are seeing paid GOPbots. Same thing as before. As soon as a positive article gets printed about her the fake talking points come out all over the internet. They are out to get her now, can you imagine how bad it will be when/if she declares?
They left her alone for a few years. The vast right wing conspiracy doesn’t rest.

BINGO! I started getting suspicious when the wingnuts started repeating the same lines about Benghazi over and over again like the sheep from Animal Farm. Talking points, indeed! Somebody is sending these goons out there to troll blogs, news sites, FB groups, and Twitter. It is exactly like the obots in 2008, except the GOPbots are probably getting their marching orders from Karl Rove or some Tea Party group instead of David Axelrod.

What is infinitely frustrating to me is how, at some Hillary Facebook groups, Ready for Hillary most annoyingly, these wingnuts are allowed to run wild and say some of the most dastardly things about Hillary. There is zero moderation. Those comments should be deleted and the authors banned. It makes me sick to see the comments that are simply allowed to sit there on a page that is supposedly dedicated to our girl.

I should have clarified that I was referring to the Daily Mail article. That rag’s comment section is always virulent against the Clintons. I think that most of the comments are nasty because if there’s an article on the Clintons the link is posted in various RW sites (like Free Republic and Drudge, for example). Then the tin foil crowd runs to post their nasty comments.

At the time you commented, that was the only article up there. I added the other one when I found it this evening. Too good not to share.

Oh, I read the Daily Mail all the time. It’s the comment sections that are terrible. It seems that every RW kook comes out of the woodwork to say something virulent. I wonder what they think in Britain and elsewhere in Europe when they read those comments.

I disagree with one other thing. She didn’t lose. She won the popular vote, and her own party did her in.

You are exactly right, Still. I agree with Jen’s assessment, as well. The GOP is terrified of her popularity. The attacks and insults will continue. Regardless of whether Hillary runs or not in 2016, she should not be the focus of the GOP’s worry. Truth is, the Republicans are their own worst enemy. There is such a division between the far right and the moderates, they can’t join forces and actually find a candidate that both factions will support. The ultra-conservatives will not bend or compromise, which ensures a Republican loss, since, evidently, a Republican presidential candidate can’t win without the support of the far right – unless they pick up more more independents.
Hillary looked great, and apparently wowed the audience. Good for her. Let the right wingers continue to trash her. Their bitter words won’t tarnish her glow.

And I agree with your analysis. If Hillary were not to run, and they nominated a moderate they could have a chance. But who do they have? Christie? Image v. Truth coming out big time in NJ. Moderate Dems and Indys are not likely to go for him. Jeb? I agree with his mom – enough Bushes, and two words: stolen election. Nope, he won’t get moderate Dems either.
