Hillary Clinton continues to demolish all comers in polls three years out from the next presidential election without having lifted a little pinkie finger to elicit such attention. She has established her own initiative within the family foundation and launched a successful and lucrative public speaking career. Here are the results of the latest Quinnipiac poll pitting her against New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
July 12, 2013 – Clinton Tops Christie By 6 Points In 2016 Race
rmer Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie 46 – 40 percent among American voters in an early look at the 2016 presidential election, compared to her 45 – 37 percent lead in March, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
The former New York senator has a healthy 55 – 38 percent favorability rating, but the lesser known New Jersey governor has a 45 – 18 percent favorability, including 41 – 19 percent among Democrats, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.

“Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton remains the front-runner for 2016 if she chooses to run,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “But New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie’s favorability numbers are impressive and if he can win over a solid share of those who do not yet have an opinion about him, he could be a very formidable candidate in 2016. Candidates with more than 2-1 favorability ratios don’t grow on trees.”
“Vice President Joseph Biden finds himself in the opposite situation as most Americans have an opinion about him and it is slightly negative, 38 percent favorable, 44 percent unfavorable,” said Brown.
“Biden trails Christie 46 – 35 percent in the 2016 face-off and is dead even 42 – 42 percent with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, whose favorability is a split 31 – 28 percent.
Clinton tops Paul 50 – 38 percent.
A little off topic, but if “they” wouldn’t have cheated Hillary out of the 2008 election, I do not think the women across the United States would be presently fighting for our very lives in state after state after state. I’m headed to the Texas capitol once again, as the minority of senators, led by Wendy Davis, try to throw us a lifeline by offering a few amendments to this horrible bill being rammed through by ALEC backed legislators. Sorry for the rant, but after sitting through “hearings” for two weeks, where Texas women poured out their hearts and then were going up against busloads of outsiders brought down by Huckabee and his ilk, one get’s a little testy! Thanks, Still, for this site, because keeping up with what Hillary is doing day after day after day to improve all of our lives, gives me strength and confidence to fight the fight. Things are getting ugly, but I think the young women have finally started to pay attention and are beginning to fight back. Later…

We’re with you, Maddie 100%! I think you’re right about 2008, and I know it has been frustrating for a lot of us that the young women had the impression this fight was history. I know I am not alone here appreciating what you folks – women and men – are doing in Texas. Be Hillary Strong!

Thank you for keeping up the fight for women’s rights!!! I also agree with you about Hillary. She got screwed by the party in 2008.

You go! I’ll be fighting the same BS in North Carolina @ Moral Monday. Our legislature is trying to one-up Texas and Ohio with the anti-women stupidity (plus screwing the poor, children, etc.) and it will kill them…

if christie ran for president, his unfavorables would certainly go up. that’s not to say he wouldn’t be a formidable candidate. but he could have a lot of difficulty winning the GOP nomination.

They don’t really have anything else to do, so they keep running these premature polls. It’s too early, really, for any of this to be meaningful.

OMG!!! Mom4Hill, get ready!! They are bussing them in by the hundreds from other states to flood the capitol. Last night was the singular most awful experience I have ever witnessed in my life, on the assault on women’s rights “in the name of the lord” and followed with a “prayer” on the senate floor! And yes, that tampon thing reallllly happened. After about twelve hours into this verbal assault, one woman in the gallery stood up and yelled “I can’t sit here and take this anymore”. She spoke for all of us, as she was escorted out of the building. Let me just say, the ALEC agenda was on full display and was out in full force!!
As Hillary said “…..they all want to control women…” I can’t even put into words how horrible it was to sit there and listen to these mouthpieces stand there invoking the name of God as they were passing legislation that would adversely affect all women’s health and very lives in the pretense of “helping women” and speaking down to us in such a paternalistic and patronizing way, as if we were all a couple of pet hamsters., Ahhhhhh!!!!! Sorry for the rant, but I needed some sane people to “talk” to… and perhaps a “group hug”….
One positive note….the young women are fired up!! About five of them jumped up toward the end of the session and tried to chain themselves to the restraining bar above the senate floor. Twenty troopers descended upon them in a heartbeat, but one young woman succeeded in chaining herself to the rail. This was right after the members had voted down an amendment put forth by Senator Wendy Davis for “equal pay”. It stopped the proceedings for at least 20 minutes as huge chain cutters had to be located. The young woman never said a word, as she stood proud and strong amongst the officers surrounding her in the gallery and the legislators looking up from below. It was the highlight of the evening. Thanks, for listening.

Maddie, we are right there with you every step of the way. I cannot stand what I am reading this morning about Texas. There is one picture I just saw of a protester with a puddle of blood. As someone who has spent many days at rallies on streets or in a marble and mahogany rotunda paid for with my tax dollars I can at least cheer that the young women are finally heading the call.
Hillary is needed now, perhaps even more than it was back then. We had other she-roes back then. Now she is a singular force to be unleashed and this just might be the issue to get her to pick up that blow horn of the media and start a fire with her spark.
Outrageous. Glad the lawsuits are in the works. This will not stand.
HUGS to you.

Separation of church and state. They are holier than us. That’s the ticket. They pray for a fetus but not for the life of the mother. They pray for a fetus but not for the victim of rape to cope with a severe and unwanted pregnancy.
They want to keep us barefoot and pregnant and most of all silent.
Speak up. Vote like your life depends on it – because it sometimes does.

We are not seeing this level of detail on the media, partially, I think, because of the Zimmerman trial. Thank you for the report, Maddie. I am glad to hear that the young women are getting involved since, up to now, most of the women I see on the screen are my age and older.
I know it was a very rough time for you, and also, we all thought this was behind us and we would never have to fight again, so you are battle weary.
(((HUGS))).

It was heartbreaking to hear the news coming fro TX. I don’t think that I could ever live in any of the “Red” states. Very disturbing what’s going on……..

I think the problem is that we all live, potentially, in “ALEC states.” Any of our state governments could be influenced by ALEC. As governor of AZ, Janet Napolitano signed an ALEC-sponsored “stand your ground” law – the same type of law that has come into the Zimmerman case in FL.

Yeah, you got a point. We also have a Republican governor in NJ.
As for Zimmerman’s trial, I blame the prosecution. They shouldn’t have vowed to pressure and charged him with murder 2. Adding manslaughter this past week reeked of desperation.

I just saw an article on the 2014 elections and they predict it will be all about abortions. Amazing. We have no other issues except them wanting to stick their noses in our uteri. Jobs, environment, health care, government waste, foreign disasters and wars all take second billing. All uteri all the time.
Just peachy. They are now emboldened with power over wimmenz. The GOP has its hand up my skirt just like it always did. I am too old for this crap!
In 2012 I got a call from them asking if I was supporting R&R, and I said not them and not Obama either. I told the man they had to stop worrying about uteri and start worrying about paychecks. He told me it was a matter of national interest for a more moral society and a better world to regulate conservative values issues. The laughter as I hung up the phone must have made him wonder what he’d said that was so funny.

I don’t do predictions. When you look at the last GOP slate and add him in with Rubio, Rand, and Cruz, his only broad GOP competition is Jeb. The rest are wingnuts and if the GOP smartens up and understands that to win a national ticket they need to moderate, Christie’s chance is not much worse than Jeb’s. If they want a sure loss they will go with one of those other three. Christie is still polling very high among Dems in NJ.
