Many will remember Katie from HillaryClinton.com during the 2008 primaries.
State Department aide to Clinton Foundation

A veteran of the State Department’s digital team is leaving Washington for a position with Hillary Clinton at the Clinton Foundation, a former State Department official told POLITICO.
Katie Dowd, who served as a senior official for digital diplomacy and innovation under the former secretary of state, is joining Clinton in New York, the official said. At the Clinton Foundation, she will direct digital strategy for Clinton, who is expected to decide late this year whether to run for president. Dowd also worked on Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid.

Good luck, Katie, and welcome to New York!

Just read up on this young woman and she is all that. Impressive.

Been watching her since 2008. They need her skills at the foundation. The website needs to be livelier.

Gates slams Biden and praises Hillary in new book. (obviously this is a correct judgement from what we’ve seen from a distance too. you didn’t have to be there to think that.)

gates on hillary:
“I found her smart, idealistic but pragmatic, tough-minded, indefatigable, funny, a very valuable colleague, and a superb representative of the United States all over the world,” Gates writes.
we already knew all of that. 🙂

I read the one linked below. Yesterday it was Haberman’s gossamer patchwork of all her stories of 2013 made to appear as something substantial and new which it is not. Today it’s Gates giving the MSM its 24 – 36 hours of fodder to chew on. Who knew he harbored that much resentment? Matthews is sure to have Joan Walsh on and probably Howard Fineman to state pontifically what Hillary “has to do” now. Thank God there’s a good Helen Mirren movie on tonight!

and now the meme in the MSN is “will obama hurt hillary in 2016?” if she decides to run, she’ll deal with this if it is in fact an albatross. she won’t complain, she’ll just deal with it. when you run a campaign, there are always hurdles. she knows that.

this article made me LOL. reince preibus is saying hillary running in 2016 may not be so bad because of all the “scandal” around her. and then he cites benghazi, whitewater and the 1990s effort at health care reform (when has that ever been called a scandal?). does he really think she’s scared of silly threats like that? if that’s the best the GOP can muster – stuff that’s been written about ad nauseam and isn’t even scandalous to begin with – the Repubs are in serious trouble. what makes hillary so dangerous to the GOP is precisely the fact that she survived all the mud thrown her way by the GOP and media for 20-plus years AND HIS STRONGER THAN EVER.

Someone pointed out to me that if you remove all the vowels from his name it spells RNC PR BS. Pretty much says it all.

Robert Gates proved to me that I cannot trust even an honest-sounding Republican.
Chris Cillizza – thanks for your assessment and heads up warning.
I do have three responses:
1) It’s NOT wrong for a political person to BE POLITICAL, you know, even if they are female!!!
2) Let us not forget the John Edwards factor in Iowa in our assessment of what happened to Hillary’s candidacy. Iowa went for a WASP.
3) Interpretations of Hillary and her integrity never cease to amaze me. I see integrity through and through. I see principle-centered behavior, and clear places where she focuses. Why does media not see that? She has ALWAYS worked for the cause of women and children – as a core aspect of many thing she has done – is that so hard to see? Media has a responsibility to go beyond campaign season to include learnings from a person’s work in the office – it was enough that Hillary got ridiculed for trips to 84 countries sipping tea… but she shows she is highly capable POLITICALLY as well DIPLOMATICALLy in an extremely demanding job. She may or may not run for the office; if she does, it might be a good time for media to eat some humble pie for the mudslinging in 2008. It would be more upright reporting if media did the honorable thing in THEIR assessments and not call for others to ‘defend’ her.

I so hope Hillary’s book explains her stance. It could have been a misunderstanding on his part or poorly worded on her part or even said in jest.
There are plenty of people who worked with Hillary who gave the same positive assessment of her awesomeness as he did. The best part is it drives holes right through the republican argument against her. That summation of her could become a great political ad for her campaign and it would be one that makes the GOP open up a giant bottle of TUMS.
