Everyone loves to get a letter from Hillary. If you don’t, you need to have either your pulse or your CDS checked. Today the New York Times shared this letter from Hillary to Barbara Buono after the bruising New Jersey gubernatorial campaign.
I have one of these and treasure it dearly. It is framed, of course, and hangs proudly in my living room.
This is so cool I love it

Glad to see it. I thought Barbara ran a very good campaign. It’s hard to run against a bully.

Vcal, I never posted them or mentioned them here, but I have two. One was from when she was SOS and her mom passed away. It had the State Dept. header and was too personal to post.
The other was from last year and was on stationery like Barbara’s above. It, also, was personal, so I never mentioned or posted it except to tell you all that she does know we are here and appreciates our encouragement. I think I have mentioned that much in threads. Not above the fold.
What you think Hillary is, she is. She is kind, open, warm, and sharing as are all of you. She does appreciate what you all contribute here. I consider that part of her message to be addressed all of us, not just to me.
Both are framed and in my living room. I could not be more honored to have them.

Still, thanks for posting that. How like Hillary to write such an encouraging letter. How like her to focus on the positive, uplifting others and sharing her strength and support. In the midst of the mindless, negative sniping, half-truths, and outright lies from small minded, obsessed detractors, Hillary pushes steadily forward, focused on the bigger picture, finding ways to use her considerable talents as a force for good. How small, petty, and pathetic her detractors appear in comparison.

And how like her to refer to the Girl Scout Leader of us all! Eleanor Roosevelt! We are all still prepared! Always will be!
I say this as someone who got kicked out of GS because the leaders didn’t know what to do with us. My friends and I got too creative, and we got kicked out.
Eight years later, as a college freshman, I became an assistant leader and found ways to keep the girls engaged when the leaders were trying to figure something out. I loved my time as a scout. I was devastated to be kicked out. The lesson for the adults is: If the kids get antsy – maybe it’s your fault, and you need to do something interesting!
My mom was the assistant Brownie leader when I was that age. She had a record. When all was chaos we could sing “Make new friends.” So I brought my guitar to the GS meetings and the girls loved it. I also totally loved them!

That is really awesome.
On a side note, I downloaded HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton on my kindle and so far I am really impressed. I’m about a third of the way through the book and Hillary is portrayed as smart, strategic, caring, and a real class act. I hadn’t planned on spending my morning reading, but I came down with some unpleasant flu-like crud and had to take a sick day today. At least I had good timing with something to read.

That’s good to know. Fair books about HRC aren’t terribly common.

I finished the book and reviewed it on Amazon. It was good, interesting, and fair. I can see why Hillary’s people were willing to help the authors.

Still, you done good, surely “she who sees everything” would acknowledge your work. Nothing slips past her and she knows her true friends and steadfast cheerleaders. I would love to work for her, or any potential future campaign. It is an honor and you deserve it!

I’m not surprised that Hillary wrote a letter to Barbara Buono. She knows how it feels to lose a hard fought election. She’s classy and caring.
