Crowds piled into the Charlotte Convention Center this afternoon to see Kay Hagan and welcome Hillary Clinton. According to CNN’s Dan Merica it took Hillary under two minutes to mention her little granddaughter named Charlotte who will turn one month old tomorrow on Hillary’s birthday.
Hillary and Kay Hagan spoke for a little more than a half hour during which a heckler briefly interrupted shouting about immigration. Hillary told the audience that Senator Hagan has a comprehensive plan for better jobs, better wages, and better schools. She said the fact that women in NC still get paid less than men for the same work costs those families thousands of dollars and that women’s rights are like the canaries in the coal mine. If they are not protected everyone is at risk.
I wanted to go to this so badly, but the only time you could get tickets was not when I had time to drive two hours each way to get them. 😦
On a positive note, I did some electioneering today for candidates endorsed by the education association…including Kay Hagan…so I was with Hillary in spirit. I also voted early (for Kay, of course).

On another positive note, early voting turnout has been high in my reddish county with more votes wanting the democratic sample ballot and education recommendations. Kay’s jerk opponent pissed off pretty much every school teacher and parent with any sense… I hope Hillary helps seal the deal.

Good luck to Kay!!! I’m cringing at the thought of Republicans gaining a majority in the Senate.
BTW, Hillary’s hair looks a tad longer. Nice pics, she has such a great smile.

I don’t just cringe at Republicans, but THIS particular one is pretty much the mortal enemy of every teacher in the state and a total jerk…just awful in so many ways. If I had to miss Hillary, I’m glad I could be getting the word out about him.
