During her nearly two-year public speaking tour, Hillary Clinton frequently criticized policy-making in Washington as operating in an “evidence-free zone.” Her point was that data-driven and evidence-driven policy is effective while ideology-driven policy can be questionable, faulty, and often ineffective.
On Facebook on Monday, senior campaign spokesperson Karen Finney shared an article from Politico exposing a deal between the New York Times and Peter Schweizer, author of a soon-to-be published book, Clinton Cash, affording the Times early access to his so-called “research.”
The following day, Brian Fallon, Hillary For America’s national press secretary, issued a memo to friends and allies in which he quoted Think Progress.
Schweizer explains he cannot prove the allegations, leaving that up to investigative journalists and possibly law enforcement.
Schweizer, by his own admission, operates in an evidence-free zone. yet the New York Times over the past two days has forged ahead in its attack on the Clinton Foundation and the unfounded allegations that donations somehow figured into decisions Hillary Clinton made as Secretary of State.

Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation as Russians Pressed for Control of Uranium Company APRIL 23, 2015
So clearly the New York Times is not at peace with the Clinton Foundation which, as Fallon points out, “is a world-class philanthropy that has helped millions of people around the world tackle issues from HIV/AIDS to children’s health to climate change.” Neither is the publication at peace with Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign as it is very clear that the foundation alone is not the sole target of these attacks.
It is ironic, indeed mind-boggling that in light of all of the above, the Times teams up with the Daily Beast in sponsoring the Women in the World Summit with which Hillary Clinton has long been associated and at which she regularly appears and speaks.
Indeed, Hillary will be delivering the keynote speech at the event this evening. All of the summit events are being live-streamed here at a site sponsored by the New York Times. Hillary has always been a huge draw and will certainly receive a joyous and celebratory welcome when she takes the stage at the David H. Koch Theater tonight.
By the way, don’t miss Helen Mirren there this afternoon, either! Always a treat!
Meanwhile, the New York Times needs to integrate its shattered personality regarding Hillary, the Clintons, and their admirable foundation.

‘Clinton Cash’ & NYT Fail to Prove Any Connection Between Hillary Clinton & Russian Purchase of Uranium Assets
Relying largely on research from the conservative author of Clinton Cash, today’s New York Times alleges that donations to the Clinton Foundation coincided with the U.S. government’s 2010 approval of the sale of a company known as Uranium One to the Russian government. Without presenting any direct evidence in support of the claim, the Times story — like the book on which it is based — wrongly suggests that Hillary Clinton’s State Department pushed for the sale’s approval to reward donors who had a financial interest in the deal. Ironically, buried within the story is original reporting that debunks the allegation that then-Secretary Clinton played any role in the review of the sale.
This story made me sick this morning on Morning Joe. I promised myself never to watch again. I mean it this time. We just can not let this Clinton Cash destroy our girl. Howard Dean tried to defend Hillary and they (Mika and Joe) cut him off and would not let him talk. Johnathan Capehart is another one that should be ashamed. Sorry for my rant, but be very prepared for what is yet to come.
New York Times should close it doors. It has become a gossip newspaper.

Mika never knows what she’s talking about, and Scarborough talks over everyone till they just shut up and sit meekly listening to him sermonize. I don’t know why anyone would be a guest on this show knowing they can’t give an opinion contrary to the host’s.

That’s because Mika doesn’t understand anything. Once when her father was on the show she basically admitted that she never understood what he was talking about at the dinner table every night. Imagine! She’s envious because she knows Hillary understands things that she doesn’t. All she does is pose. She tries to make it look like she is reading and giving heavy thought to things, but she can’t even pull that off.

As I explained over at Uppity Woman, the book is ludicrous, and no one would pay any attention except Faux News, and who cares about that. But once the NYT and WaPo get in on the act the entire media echo chamber revs up. Facts and evidence don’t matter. It becomes a feeding frenzy by the whole pack.
They want Hillary out of the race or they want the Foundation to shut down which would result in the deaths of millions who are alive today solely because of the Foundation.
Thank you, once again, Still for calling out these people.

At least they docked this swift boat early. They said Schweizer was going to do his next book on Jeb and that the research was already mostly done. So maybe that will help balance the BS scale.

The NY Times has a long, long history of attack and make up with the left. The Times was gung-ho for Bush and against Gore. They led the battle cry for war because of WMD and they did the faulty research to accoomplish it. They covered Whitewater, Vince Foster, Bill’s impeachment, and every hint of scandal and every investigation with scandal sheet finess. Hillary Rose Law Firm scandal? Was Hillary fired from Watergate law team? Those type titles sold many papers and pleased their big corporate rich advertisers.
When she was found innocent they never retracted the innuendo and never cleared up the mess they helped create on the reasons to go to war.
They have let Dowd keep her job when it was obvious many, many years ago that she was nothing but a gutter snipe with an agenda and no intelligent, accurate information to put forth. Just trash talk every single week. It sells.
They endorsed Hillary in 2007 and then promptly set out to destroy her. I used to go to the caucus blog every day and comment there for years. Then the editors allowed massive amounts of lying trolls to fill the comments section daily and the regulars were all run out of there. Cancelled subscriptions and letters didn’t matter. They run on big buck advertisements. Worthless paper.

I made the same point about how beholden they are to wealthy interests at Uppity’s blog, Karen! That’s even more true now that their circulation numbers are so poor. This probably also explains their ideological conflicts. Liberal editorials and right wing hit pieces against the one person who can effectively reform the economy and deal with income inequality. They’re living a double life and have been getting away with it for years.

There are many people in Hillary land who have the same opinions because we’ve watched it happen over the decades. I made that comment right here a week or two ago as well.
I have sent my sister, who subscribes to that rag for 40 years, an email a few times a year ranting on why I have grown to hate the Times. She says she “reads it backwards” the crossword puzzle, Sunday Mag, Art info, interesting pieces about real estate or travel or food or museums or people – then the world news. Lastly she skims the latest political drivel. I dive right into the politics and mostly fume.

This right wing author recycled an erroneous Times’ article from 2008 when her confirmation was pending, and this morning the “newspaper of record” recycled the garbled story yet again. This would be amusing if it did not have such potentially serious consequences.

Judging how adamantly the NYT does not want Hillary to be president, and, in light of the paper’s history (Judy Miller and her golden aspens), I’m beginning to suspect that Hillary doesn’t have enough CIA in her DNA to suit the Gray Lady.

This has been a very interesting roll out to those of us who watched the details in full last time around and especially for those of us who were in NY and worked on her Senate campaign, twice and before that for Clinton/Gore.
It makes me bristle when I see anything Obama campaign in her campaign but she is right to do so. Diplomat that she is, the crossovers who supported him can be more comfortable. (OFA now HFA. A bunch of his people doing things his way, the Dean 50 state grassroots plan. The O campaign feel.
For those of us around through it all – she has had me tear-up a few times already. Loads of email and mail, including that 4 page letter that started “Dear Karen, You have been my friend and ally for a long time, and over the years… etc.” and every word was right, she know us. The campaign just sent me an email to say they are sending my bumper sticker. (In 07 I had to drive to a campaign office for stickers and signs.)
They are welcoming their old opposition. They are welcoming their old friends even more. They are covering all the states and they are listening to Iowa, to NH, to the first states which although totally unfair do matter more right now.
it is not Iowa for Hillary – it is Hillary for Iowa, times 50. Interesting start.
The hell with the press and the republicans, we will not take no for an answer.

The Times has been wrong about the Clintons since 1992 — IMO they have never gotten over being sooooo wrong about Whitewater.
Also, they can’t stand it that people from Arkansas can be as smart as the Clintons. Simple jealousy, and the old sectional snobbery left over from the Civil War.
