Yesterday, the New York Times published a pdf of emails pertaining to Libya. Today, the State Department provided 592 emails at its Virtual Reading Room site. Hillary reiterated to the press gaggle today her hope for earlier rather than later releases of all email the department deems safe to publish.

@U.S. Senate: Time to ratify LOST!
"... ratify the Law of the Sea Convention, which has provided the international framework for exploring these new opportunities in the Arctic. We abide by the international law that undergirds the convention, but we think the United States should be a member, because the convention sets down the rules of the road that protect freedom of navigation, provide maritime security, serve the interests of every nation that relies on sea lanes for commerce and trade, and also sets the framework for exploration for the natural resources that may be present in the Arctic." -HRC, 06-03-12, Tromso Norway

They are oh so quiet about emails after some are released. The pretense of looming scandal is gone. Too bad, so sad.
I think in a year at convention time we are going to hear these results:
Clinton/Castro
vs
Bush/Rubio
Anybody else have a guess 1 and 1/2 years before election day?
lol. Just thinking a bit before they announce, kick off, hit the hard trail…
I marked it on my calendar for next year to see how my guess works out.

I think that you might be right when it comes to Clinton/Castro, but not Bush/Rubio. I’m from Florida and know these two men. There are three reasons why this won’t happen 1) If Bush gets the nomination he won’t pick someone from his own state…it won’t help him, besides they are both unpopular in Florida and in polls Clinton beats both of them by a mile. 2) Rubio has been saying some negative things about his mentor, which was not appreciated by the Bush camp and 3) Both men will say anything to get elected, which by the way they won’t. This is a losing combination. I think the Republicans will nominate someone more conservative this time around. This too will be a losing idea.t

Who do you see on the R ticket?

Bush and Rubio can’t be on the same ticket because they’re both from Florida. One would have to move to another state like Cheney did in 2000. But he was from Wyoming in the first place so he could get away with it.
As for Clinton/Castro, that would be great but, knowing Hill, I think she would want someone with more experience. And R’s would hypocritically use his inexperience to pound her on her age.

Part of me thinks this is VERY premature. But it’s fun and harmless to speculate.
I think there is almost a 100 percent chance Rubio will either be the nominee or Veep candidate. I don’t think Bush will be on the ticket because (among other reasons), the name is toxic, bordering on radioactive.
On Dem side, I would love to see Hillary double down on gender. My first choice would be Gillibrand, but that brings up the same state problem. So, why not my Senator, Amy Klobuchar? She’s in her second term; she’s from a working class background, and she’s the right age.

I forgot to mention she’s terrific!

Good choices! Definitely see those on short lists.
Same state is ok, if they got the gravitas to be diplomatic for the VP role the state is less important.
And going with 2 women would double down on awesome!

Well, I too live in Florida. All the stats show Hillary can win without Florida but it is the one MUST for the Rs. I follow election map delegate counts religiously.
I seem to recall a certain two man team from Arkansas and Tennesee winning. They were both appalachian south men on the ticket and they were two of the same pea pods.
The rest of the Rs are not registering in the must win states at all.
Bush and Rubio can hit each other and survive. Clinton and Obama…

Amendment XII of the Constitution precludes any of the Electors in the Electoral College from voting for both president and vice president from the same state as the Electors. At least one of them must reside in a different state than the Electors from that state.

I was going to suggest Texas or Connecticut — should have thought of Maine.
And the media is in love with Rubio. They have to get him on the ballot somehow.

Democratic Underground has a lot of Hill fans correcting the record. Their comments make it sound like there are a lot of them and they ‘re really getting hit by trolls. The boards all have fake Bernie supporters who are really Rs. They attack Bill for stuff from the 90s. SHE is running NOW…
Should have new polls soon….

Castro brings something besides his clear statesman personality and intellect.
She has hispanics, 75% of them already.
BUT they would GOTV and be highly motivated to be a huge push for her if it included him, especially.
Woman/Hispanic – talk about historic!
And what could the Rs do – every attack would be racist or sexist! lol
but lots of things could happen between now and way down the road.

I love to see her debate anyone, but Rubio would be a big bottle of water and popcorn time. Cuba – slam dunk.
