I am reblogging this because somehow the campaign failed to get back to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver when they sent out a one-question yes/no request for a position. The answer, of course, is yes. Hillary not only supports the Equality Act, she led the pack in getting signatures in support. Hillary originally posted this at Twitter on July 23.
Note to campaign: Last Week Tonight is a pretty influential show. Not a good idea to ignore their requests. Hillary ended up in the wrong column on their screen last night – wrongly and unfairly – not because they did not do their homework, but because the campaign blew off their request for a response.
Hillary is calling for full equality. Sign here to support the Equality Act.
Still, did her campaign respond to the claim they didn’t respond to Oliver?
That is a very little problem. Earnest press conference a short while ago is a potentially huge one.

So Biden jumps in. Warren supports him vociferously and they leak she will likely be his VP. All the Biden people working for Hillary jump ship – with all her plans and data in their hands. Then Obama endorses him and encourages his base to do so. Really. This is possible?
Now and Emily’s list better get their voiced heard. Right now.

Not so far and I do not see this as a little problem.

I don’t watch TV. So I don’t know about his influence but the facts are out there that she did come out with it long ago. I looked it up when I read this and saw a Human Rights watch org did correct him and they linked to a HuffPo article on her discussing equality.

Also, I meant a little problem compared to OBAMA coming out for Biden.
Earnest went on and on praising Joe for President.
“I’ll just say that the Vice President is someone who has already run for president twice, he has been on a national ticket through two election cycles now — both in 2008 and in the reelection in 2012. And, so I think you could make the case that there’s probably no one in American politics today who has a better understanding of exactly what is required to mount a successful national presidential campaign,” Mr. Earnest said.
That is a BFD.

I saw Earnest’s whole presser and am not worried about that. Seems more of that meeting was about what Congress can do about how the markets closed on Friday than anything else. Wisely, given how they fell today.

Very influential. Helped get Sepp Blatter to resign; within two weeks got NYC to reexamine its probation processes; as of last week’s show has the IRS under fire for not inspecting churches and donations.HUGE following and all of those people saw Hillary’s pic in the wrong screen shot while Bernie loomed large as having responded.
Also, I think to LGBT people who can marry and then be fired for getting married, or refused an apartment or a mortgage, this is far from small. There is a lot straight people take for granted that not everyone has a right to in 31 states.

I never said the issue was small.
The TV show with a wrong fact is what I called small.

If this had been just a TV show with a wrong fact, I would not have bothered with it. That happens all week every week on TV. This is a highly influential show that addresses serious current events, and they left for a 2-week break with Bernie Sanders standing alone on one screen shot with Hillary among all the Republicans except Rand Paul, erroneously, on another. It actually is a big deal or I would not have posted this.

I don’t know what they linked to but videos about marriage equality are different from statements about the Equality Act. This is how the world saw Hillary last night. The worst part is that the show is off for the next two weeks. So this is what sticks in the minds of the viewers – much like that first NYT header. And it is not Oliver’s fault. His team researched those televangelists for seven months before they aired that story. They do their homework. They sent out a simple question, and it was ignored. Not good. The final statement was that these others are “presumably, thinking about it.”

Get mad and fight back. This is bull and we will not be silent. They attack Hillary the way they do because she is a woman. It is about the appendage. The frat boys in the press were just like the boys at Va college once – only now they are mocking a giant among women.
And the left and the right are working night and day to destroy her – and us.

Whoa, Karen! Why would Warren endorse Biden? She is the enemy of the bankers, and he carried water for banks and credit card companies for decades as Senator from Delaware. And the rest of the scenario is equally fanciful.
The Biden-Warren meeting may have been about Iran pact. WH is trying to firm up support. The DNC is having its summer meeting this week. All five declared candidates will be there. Biden will not. That’s a pretty important meeting to miss if he’s seriously considering a run. As for Obama endorsing, my guess is he will endorse Hillary.

I think they made it very clear it will not be Hillary. So you are guessing Obama will back Hillary. I would never guess that from what they have said and what they have done.
They are pushing his “best decision ever was joe as VP” line, all over!

yeah, I certainly noticed that line being repeatedly hit lately.

Biden has a lot to gain in getting Warren on his side, or at least giving the APPEARANCE that he has her on his side.
And hey, if Veep opportunity is a chance, Warren just might… she is a politician, afterall.
So, yeah, I’m watching this closely.

Warren is no Claire McCaskell who has much more clout. I bet the Democratic Senators don’t like Biden asking Warren to a private meeting. . Many in the Senate do not like her. This is going to divide the party just watch. I do not care for back stabbing. I have scars from the last campaign that Hillary ran in 2008 for President.

WH press secretary is going to say nice things about VP. Media will go MAD or MADDER. If Biden knows how to run a successful campaign, he showed no signs of it in two previous runs. It’s August!

A spokesperson for Obama said this as Obama and Biden were having lunch to discuss his plan to run. It wasn’t nice things – he said Biden could run a better campaign than Hillary!
I am not worried about what the media says. I do worry about Obama backing Biden to the hilt and this is an indication they will.

This was their weekly Monday lunch. Like the weekly Tuesday breakfasts Biden had with Hillary when she wasn’t traveling. We don’t know what they were discussing at lunch.

She wouldn’t need to be VP just the rumor to start is enough for the fringe.
She just would have to throw her support behind him (in exchange for his support later) and I do not think she has much of a spine and is a fraud who is just looking to gain power and influence.
But if you don’t think the WH (clearly) showing support for Biden is a big deal, well what can I say. Earnest said Obama can endorse in the primary.
Not my idea. The WH put that out. On purpose.

Josh Earnest said, “You could make the case” for Biden. He could have added that you could make the same case for Hillary. But if the question was about Biden, he’s not going to throw the guy under the bus from the podium. If I can’t talk you all down from the ledge, how about Bill Richardson (of all people!). He endorsed Hillary yesterday. Surprise! Surprise! You can be very sure that he would never have done that unless he is VERY sure she will be the nominee. Speaking of backstabbers! Since they’re lining up behind Hillary, they must see the handwriting on the wall. And I would bet that Richardson checked with the’WH. We know from the last time that he doesn’t leave endorsements to chance.

And even if Biden ran, Hillary would still get the nomination. It would be more of a challenge, but she would win. And Elizabeth Warren would have a very difficult time explaining to the women of America why she supports a man who voted for the 2005 Bankruptcy Act over a woman who didn’t. It would make no sense at all.

Warren has a segment of the Obama coalition who loves her and they do not even know why. When you mention she was a republican for her entire life they say – but Hillary is corporate and Warren walks on water.
Judas means nothing, like Claire he would flip on a dime and has.
Biden would have to hit her very hard right out of the gate. He will have his pac money to attack while keeping his nice guy image. Joe without Obama and Warren is just Joe. With them – game changer.
I was at my county DEC tonight and everybody was shaking their heads about Biden especially women. We had a long meeting then spent an hour in the parking lot.

I think there are many women, especially, who are looking forward to voting for the first female president. I’m one of them. If the Democrats don’t think that matters, they do so at their own peril. I like Joe Biden but his candidacy wouldn’t excite me – Hillary’s does, however. And quite frankly, I do think it’s a woman’s turn at the helm. I truly hope he doesn’t become a spoiler. 🙂
