Activists: Hillary Clinton Called Violence Against Black Trans Women A “National Crisis”
Black Lives Matter activists, including a black trans activist named Cherno Biko, talked with Clinton on Friday in Washington, D.C., in a closed-door meeting.

WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton said in a private meeting with Black Lives Matter activists that the current plight of violence against trans women of color is a “national crisis” she hopes to help end should she become president, according to activists who attended the meeting.
Following the meeting, activists said they were impressed with Clinton’s command of the issue. Just this week, Keisha Jenkins, a 22-year-old transgender woman from Philadelphia, was brutally beaten and shot. A recent report published by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, in concert with Trans People of Color Coalition, said Jenkins was the 20th transgender person killed this year alone.
“I think it’s really important to have her voice as a part of this conversation,” Cherno Biko, a trans activist who was at the meeting told BuzzFeed News. “We need all hands on deck.”

CNN’s reporting on this was typical of them.A young man who had been AT the meeting praised Hillary. Don Lemon even said something complimentary but then it took the usual Anti-Hillary twist. The conversation ended up praising Bernie for coming out w/his policy first and trashing Hillary for being “Too slow” in rolling out her policy. ( She just met w/ the group yesterday;is the woman not allowed to sleep?)
Apparently it is more important to be quick w/a policy than thoughtful or to actually to talk and listen to the people whose lives might be affected by those policies.
So given that quickness and attention spans are such essential elements of the current political climate, I wonder if Hillary should have her staff figuring out how to roll out her policies using emojis.
