At the Brady Center “Bear Awards”at Cipriani tonight, Hillary Clinton received the first Governor Mario M. Cuomo Leadership Award.
The Brady Center “Bear Awards” are named for Jim “Bear” Brady, who sustained a gunshot wound to the head during an assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan in 1981, and his wife, Sarah, who worked side by side with Jim to pass the landmark Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993, more commonly known as the “Brady Law.”
The Brady Center “Bear Awards” honor the efforts of individuals who have distinguished themselves in their dedication to Sarah and Jim’s vision of a nation without gun violence and who embody their remarkable spirit, strength and perseverance, to the extent that anyone else can!
Our best compliments, Mme. Secretary! Well-deserved!

Exactly. She had us in awe about a million “proud moments” ago. Now she is just ridiculously overwhelmingly putting another layer of icing on our pride.
Hillary Rodham Clinton deserves to be our first woman president. Her indefatigable spirit, her knowledge of the issues, her previous experiences and her accomplishments make her uniquely qualified for the position. She should be elected in 2016 for a 2017-2021 first term and re-elected in 2020 for a 2021-2025 second term. I’m promoting her on Twitter – @BarbaraMcDWhitt. My hope is that she will choose another woman as her vice presidential running mate.
You know she’s doing well when Sanders’ supporters at Slate and Salon start stepping up their attacks on her. And, boy, have they ever. At the same time, they are praising everything Bernie does more ardently than ever. They really don’t seem to understand that a political party Sanders has never supported, much less identified with, was never likely to nominate him for president. With Hillary proving herself the strongest candidate by far, they seem to be losing all restraint and are now attacking with abandon.

@U.S. Senate: Time to ratify LOST!
"... ratify the Law of the Sea Convention, which has provided the international framework for exploring these new opportunities in the Arctic. We abide by the international law that undergirds the convention, but we think the United States should be a member, because the convention sets down the rules of the road that protect freedom of navigation, provide maritime security, serve the interests of every nation that relies on sea lanes for commerce and trade, and also sets the framework for exploration for the natural resources that may be present in the Arctic." -HRC, 06-03-12, Tromso Norway
