If you are a New Yorker, you know how BIG this is!
The Amsterdam News endorses Hillary Clinton for president
3/31/2016, 10:05 a.m.
We need Hillary. Our country sits on the precipice. We will either continue to rise up out of the ashes of the Bush presidency or go down in flames. The past seven years have been a struggle, to say the least. President Barack Obama has done a remarkable job trying to right this ship we call America, while having to ride the storm surges of the right wing trying to sink us at every turn. We have come a long way, but there are still so many challenges ahead of us.
As New York heads to the polls in just a few short weeks, we must be clear in our objectives. We must understand our history and who has written it. So now it is our turn to correct some of the misnomers and half truths as we go forward to this pivotal election, which, as many pundits have noted, may be the most consequential in our lifetime.
For the first time, in a very long time, the New York presidential primary will actually count, and count with decisive numbers. And that is why this endorsement may be one of the most important ones of our generation.

Awesome endorsement. Very good write-up by the paper, and lots of wonderful Hillary supporters in the comments there. So glad to see the positive energy.
I’m going now to Hillary rally, in Syracuse NY. Looking forward to seeing her. 🙂

It was AWESOME! I was just one person away from the podium on the steps side… so could get a shake-hand after the speech.. I have a lot of pictures.!! (I was to the right of Hillary as she faced the audience; very close; cameras may have caught me…)
There were about oh, 3k to 4k people or may be more. It was a big shed in the Farmers’ Market.. and it was jam-packed. VERY energized, very positive. I met people from BInghamton and Albany standing right next to me.
There were some Bernie supporters holding placards outside and some GOP anti-Hillary placards and big blow-horns.. all outside. No one interrupted, except one Hillary supporter (a handicapped person, interrupting with a couple of questions during Hillary’s speech)
I met some first-time supporters.. and some very long-time supporters. It was really great to speak in person with so many Hillary supporters in person… voices you only hear on the phone during campaign phonecalls is very different from standing in line to get into building and exchanging views about what are the issues that standout, and how best to counter the viewpoints being put forth from the other sides.. That was very good and morale building.
Hillary was absolutely phenomenal.. she was very energized, and energizing to the audience. The audience was very energized by equal pay… the whole place erupted.. She showed also that she knows Syracuse NY very well… she does as she was our Senator who was deeply engaged with our woos/issues/challenges.. in helping us grow out of it. Central New York is very grateful to Hillary for all she has done for us throughout those 8 years — haha, people were still referring to her as Senator Clinton… and correcting themselves!
I am so glad I went, despite the challenges of the day.. Made kid wait in the school to be picked up… But it was worth it. Came back with a “Fighting for Us” placard. Got to put one of them on the lawn.

my pleasure! It is a great day.. to remember forever. She WILL be our President. There were a lot of people signing up to volunteer. People were asking me what it is like to make phonecalls… how is it like when other side is not with you, etc. and they really like it to know that it’s all nicely scripted and easy to handle. They are more encourage to consider signing up..
