The rally itself was featured at Still 4 Hill yesterday as part of the regular reportage on Hillary Clinton’s activities and campaign. The protest outside the campaign was mentioned there based on news reports. Since then, my friend Jennifer Hall Lee has sent me her personal account of having been caught up among the protesters.
Bernie Sanders, his campaign managers, and surrogates have stirred up a hornets nest and cast Hillary Clinton as the enemy. The Republican Party is in chaos over its unqualified and out-of-control presumptive nominee. For the United States to elect the only clear-headed, sober, and qualified candidate, the Democratic Party must pull together. This will not happen while Sanders contends, as he continues to, that unifying the party is the sole responsibility of the front-runner. Was watching Joy Reid’d new wknd show on MSNBC and they were analyzing Sanders’ failure with minority voters, particularly African Anericans. Toure (writer and ex MSNBC host) mentioned the Bernie Bros and what a turn off they are to him. I was so happy and felt so validated that he called it out and DIDN’T do the usual “Oh but all supporters have strains like that.” And thank god no one else on the panel used that fake meme either. I really like Chris Hayes but on his show he ALWAYS interject with qualifiers every time the Bernie Bro topic comes up. No, they are not the same and kudos to Toure for being one of the few on tv to point them out.

I’m glad to hear that about Toure, The Bernie Bros remind me of the old “No Girls Allowed” signs. I don’t know how young women fail to seem the implications of Bernie Bros. My generation figured it out when Stokeley Carmichael said “A woman’s position in SNCC is prone.” BTW Bernie was a member of SNCC. Old dog – no new tricks.
