Hold your horses! But do not hold your vote! When Hillary decides to own this primary, we own it and we win, but not until that moment.
I do not know why AP came out with this massaged total tonight. But if you are in a final Super Tuesday state, please do NOT take this as signal not to vote tomorrow!
Every vote counts! Every delegate counts!
You may have seen this.
Here is Hillary’s response.
Pay no attention to the men working the curtain! Do go vote tomorrow. Do not let this stop you from voting! New Jersey, California, New Mexico, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota: Absolutely go vote in the morning!
From the campaign:
“This is an important milestone, but there are six states that are voting Tuesday, with millions of people heading to the polls, and Hillary Clinton is working to earn every vote. We look forward to Tuesday night, when Hillary Clinton will clinch not only a win in the popular vote, but also the majority of pledged delegates.”— Campaign Manager Robby Mook
So happy but really want people in CA to vote (I will be!).
Also I think it’s interesting how Sanders’ complaints in the media that NO “presumptive” call can be made til the actual convention has put a bit of damper on, and influenced the converage of this. I’m watching MSNBC and they’re really, really bending over backwards to explain how they made the decision to call it. Which is fine, but the tone is tinged with a kind of “see, this process seems rigged b/c it didn’t happen on an election night.” Was watching Lawrence O’Donnell and he was basically questioning journalistic ethics in making this call. The NBC Decision Desk guy had to explain to him that this was math, that they don’t make the call based on what the campaigns want, just when the math is there–on an election night or not.
It made me wonder if he and ppl like him had these same “concerns” 8yrs ago. I doubt it. To me, it’s just another example of how much harder Hillary has to fight and what a strong, awesome woman she is. That even at THIS historic time, she has to fight to just be fairly recognized, without freakin’ caveats or people trying to reduce or downplay the significance of her her achievement.
