Over the 12 days prior to New Year’s Day, the tradition here has been to provide a retrospective of the past year. 2016 was a busy year. It was a campaign year. It began with a lot of hope and celebration. That’s going to make this a painful endeavor down the line. (Please see the note at the bottom of this post.)

NOTE: It was after a lot of deliberation that I decided to embark on this project this year. There was so much that was wrong. Even now, pundits deny the degree to which misogyny, sexism, and plain old Clinton Derangement Syndrome (on an international scale) influenced this election, but a review shines a light on the truth. Some of the evolving mythology around the election result is better refuted by pictures rather than a thousand words. So, yes, I decided to do it anyway even though, frankly, it is labor intensive, emotionally draining, and feels like picking at a scab.
Much appreciated, Still!
I understand that yesterday on Sunday shows, there were actually “pundits” claiming it was Hillary’s fault that her campaign was hacked because of her private server. Now, this proves that our pundit class is either made up of stupid people or liars since the server she used as SOS had nothing to do with John Podesta’s email. Nevertheless, media conflated the two during the campaign and apparently continue to do so. About 70,000 ignorant as dirt people in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin have given us Trump. Exactly what is the media’s excuse?

I noticed that. Worthless media.

And it is oddly comforting to see these pics again. Thank you!

Comforting, also disturbing. As I work on these and find all of her statesmanlike initiatives, today becomes ever more discouraging. She gave speeches and wrote op-eds while the new PEOTUS tweeted. Reminds me on Nero for some strange reason.

Thanks for your work, Still.
This is all unbearable.
What hurts the most, is that young women and girls all around the word just saw an experienced, accomplished, compassionate and extremely intelligent woman “beaten” by a bigoted, incompetent buffoon with the right equipment below the waist.

My heart broke when I was watching Extra tonight (since I am off CNN and MSNBC etc. for Advent – at least). Jennifer Lawrence saying that since she did The Hunger Games she knows she has a lot of young tween girl fans and she felt she had to address this election for them. As I go through these months I cannot help but focus on the little ones. They break my heart.

Thank you. It’s hard to look at these pictures and remember all of these events and all the hope, especially of all the children in these pictures… Yet as Brassy Rebel said it’s also oddly comforting.
