The foreign press knows what is at stake.

Love trumps hate. Good trumps evil. Light trumps darkness. Knowledge trumps ignorance. And hope will always trump despair. When Donald J Trump, the narcissistic real estate businessman, beat Hillary Rodham Clinton, former first lady and secretary of state to the presidency of the United States of America in the 2016 elections, a lie was practically put to almost all of those assertions.
With uncommon dignity, she ran a campaign of ideas for the future. But her opponent was and is a misogynist, a demagogue whose own ideas, to the extent that he had any, were warped, racist and downright insulting of our collective humanity. The appeal of Trump’s campaign to the American electorate is still a phenomenon under scrutiny but it is enough to say he found listening ears in a people who, in despair, chose to accept his retail of fear instead of Clinton’s message of hope. So, Trump trumps Clinton. But America is the loser. She lost to a man whose definition of the truth is its exact opposite, one whose skyscraper of empty promises on the way to that electoral victory dwarfed the flagship of his real estate holding. When the media insists that she was “a flawed candidate” who ran a bad campaign, I want to scream, “More flawed than Trump whose campaign was the most horrendous in history?” What is wrong with these people?
The Guardian gets it. Hillary appealed to the better angels of our nature. Every time the media sneers at her campaign they are saying that was the wrong thing to do, and Trump did the right thing channeling fear and hatred. Narrowly eking out a victory in the Electoral College does not make Donald Trump a good candidate. And it most definitely does not make him a good person. Hillary is both.

The news media was the reason Trump won along with them covering Hillary with bad press about e-mails They covered him 24/7. Hillary never had the same coverage. They even showed him at rally’s from beginning to the end. Hillary never got that kind of coverage. Even Bernie got more coverage. We are in for a rough ride.

Well, yes. And in 2020 the only candidate whose election will regain the trust of the world. And you know what she’s going to say? She’s going to laugh. And then she’s going to take her dog and go back into the garden and finish her tea. And her book.
