Hillary Clinton speaks at the Society of Irish Women’s annual dinner on St. Patrick’s DayCredit: AP
Hillary Clinton said she was “ready to come out of the woods” and help Americans find common ground.
Mrs Clinton’s gradual return to the public spotlight following her presidential election loss continued with a St. Patrick’s Day speech in her late father’s Pennsylvania hometown.
“I’m like a lot of my friends right now, I have a hard time watching the news,” Mrs Clinton told an Irish women’s group.
But she urged a divided country to work together to solve problems, recalling how, as first lady, she met with female leaders working to bring peace to Northern Ireland.
“What can we do to try to bring people together and to try to find that common ground, even higher ground, sister, so that we listen to each other again and we know that we can make a difference? I’m not sure it will come out of Washington yet, but I think it can come out of Scranton. Let’s find ways to do that,” she told the Society of Irish Women.
Hillary is so respected around the world and in the United States. The clown in the White House makes me sick. The press conference at the White House today was a disgrace. I was so embarrassed that Mr. Trump is the leader of this country. If it where Hillary as our President she would have made us all proud.

@U.S. Senate: Time to ratify LOST!
"... ratify the Law of the Sea Convention, which has provided the international framework for exploring these new opportunities in the Arctic. We abide by the international law that undergirds the convention, but we think the United States should be a member, because the convention sets down the rules of the road that protect freedom of navigation, provide maritime security, serve the interests of every nation that relies on sea lanes for commerce and trade, and also sets the framework for exploration for the natural resources that may be present in the Arctic." -HRC, 06-03-12, Tromso Norway
