But the incitement of hatred that got us here is as real and condemnable as the white supremacists in our streets.

Every minute we allow this to persist through tacit encouragement or inaction is a disgrace, & corrosive to our values.

Now is the time for leaders to be strong in their words & deliberate in their actions.

We will not step backward. If this is not who we are as Americans, let's prove it.

Hillary was right when she talked about the “basket of deplorables” who supported trump during the campaign AND that he was tempermentally unfit for the office. Her supporters knew she was right but our media, the republicans, the alt right, the Russians and even bernie sanders attacked her constantly and with vitriol. She was the only truly qualified person running for the office, but no one listened to her because, well, she’s a woman. BUT SHE WAS RIGHT.
The media’s disgraceful placating of trump and giving him pass after pass after pass during the campaign, while focusing ad nauseum on Hillary’s e-mails were the enablers who helped, along with the Russians, to put trump in the WH.
The 2016 election will go down in our history as the time when America lost — they lost their way, they lost the chance to have a truly extraordinary woman in the WH, and we found ourselves anything but GREAT AGAIN!
I miss Hillary now more than ever.

Thought it important to spread this educational film prepared by the War Department in 1947, which was posted on Riverdaughter today. It’s a timely message that eerily sounds like they could be talking about what is happening today in America 2017 under the age of trump. It’s a message that we should listen to and take seriously. Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it. I pray that we in America don’t repeat what the German people did when they stood passively by while the Nazis spread bias and hatred against the Jewish people, black and brown people, disabled people, homosexuals, mentally ill people, basically hating anyone who wasn’t a part of the Aryan race (i.e., white):

I was shocked on Saturday when a gay man said to me that the white supremacists and neo-Nazis just want attention, and if we want them to disappear we should ignore them. Of course, this strategy was road tested by the Germans in the thirties and didn’t work at all. And, as a member of a marginalized community, privilege won’t be extended to him. I think there is going to continue to be a lot of denial despite this tragedy. One more thing we have to call out and combat going forward.

There is a shocking lack of knowledge of the Holocaust and who were targeted. I hesitate to add to already overburdened curricula but perhaps a unit on LGBT discrimination and persecution needs to be added somewhere so that HS grads know something about that.

Check the news…the Anti-Fascist film has gone viral! That’s great. People need to be reminded what happens when you remain quiet in the middle of a great moral crisis.
Again, Hillary was right when she made her campaign slogan “Stronger Together”. She believed America was already a great country and could ONLY be greater if we worked together as a united America. Wake up America, Donald trump is not what’s right about us, he represents what’s wrong.
I can’t help but feel that if the election had not been stolen from Hillary and the will of the people had been honored, her presidency would have brought a different, more hopeful, inclusive dynamic to our country, and the white supremacists would not have gone to Charlottsville and Heather Heyer would still be with us, attending rallies and standing up for the disenfranchised of our society and continued the full, productive life she had already begun.
I agree with Aunt Maxine Waters…she gets who Donald trump really is. She has from the beginning and has taken a lot of heat for it. The dems should follow her lead and have some backbone when it comes to speaking truth to power. No more excuses or second chances for trump. He is who he is and he is not going to change.

Hey, just saw this link over at Uppity Woman’s site. Got to hand it to Evan Hurst at Wonkette site for putting into words exactly how many Hillary supporters feel as the truth continues to come out that Hillary did warn us and the media shunned her:
