The event will be Hillary Clinton’s first for a candidate in 2017.
Hillary Clinton is set to return to the electoral fray next week.
The Democratic Party’s 2016 presidential nominee will break from her book tour to raise campaign money for Virginia Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, the party’s gubernatorial nominee, next Wednesday, multiple Democrats familiar with the plan confirmed to POLITICO.
News of the New York event was first reported by The Associated Press.
The event will be Clinton’s first for a candidate in 2017, though she has stepped back into politics with the launch of her new group, Onward Together, that backs Democratic organizations.
The former secretary of state has also re-emerged in the national political conversation recently with the publication of her latest book, “What Happened,” which recounts her loss to Donald Trump.
Northam is locked in a tight battle with Republican Ed Gillespie, though polls show Northam slightly ahead. The current governor, Terry McAuliffe, is a close friend of Clinton’s. McAuliffe isn’t eligible to run for re-election because of Virginia’s law prohibiting consecutive terms.
I know Hillary is promoting her book (as all author’s do) but what I see that distinguishes her from previous presidential candidates who have lost, she is totally engaged in doing whatever she can to help our country. Even though she lost (actually she won, which makes her actions even more admirable), unlike her male counterparts, she has taken an active role in helping other democratic candidates to win their elections and offers good and wise advice on where we are and where we should be going so that future generations of Americans can have a real chance at the American dream.
Again, I am perplexed by the media, the republicans, the dems and, of course, Bernie sanders want her to shut up and go away! What is wrong with these people? sanders continues to do nothing but lecture everyone but does not do his homework or any real work in achieving his legislative goals (in other words, all he does is talk). Hillary, on the other hand, will make more of a difference in people’s lives by her “Onward Together” organization than all of those complaining about her.
Shame on them for this vindictive, even jealous, behavior towards this formidable woman who has done so much for our country and for others around the world.
Anyone who doesn’t believe that Hillary has done good works which have all but gone unnoticed by the media and her so-called colleagues, let’s take a look at some of the things she has done to make the world better:
Someone who can accomplish so much good should never be silence or told to go away. I can assure you that you will not find such a compilation of good deeds from sanders or Obama, to whom have given great praise from the very people who want Hillary to sit down and shut up. But still she persists…Thank God!
