It began with this.
WE STAND WITH DONNA!
I received it in Mark Murphy’s name. Mark is my friend. The message was that elements were trying to push Donna Brazile out of the Democratic Party. That didn’t seem fair, so I signed.
Then came an email request from Donna to donate to the party. So I did. In support.
Today’s breaking news, starting with an excerpt in Politico and followed by stories in several major publications including The Daily Beast, The New York Post, and Newsweek to name a few, that Donna Brazile has a book out in which she supposedly describes how Hillary Clinton “took over” the Democratic Party (CNN is using the verb “hijacked”) came as a shock.
I will not link to any of the articles. What I can tell you is that DB is trending on Twitter and a good deal of of the comments are calling her out for her lies and her self-promotion. Here are a few examples, but you should go look for yourself. Some retweeting wouldn’t hurt while you’re there.
On Facebook, all my PUMA friends suddenly came roaring through!
After Hillary accepted Secretary of State, I purged most of the PUMA posts here although I have occasionally referred to our angry coalition. I didn’t want to affect opinions of Hillary’s work.
But now the game has changed. We thought, in supporting DB these past few weeks, that we were supporting the traditional Dem Party. Now it appears that Donna has tossed her support toward Bernie, who remains an Independent, and his “revolution” that wants to drive the party far to the left.
It all smells like political treachery, self-promotion, and week-old jambalaya. We are not having it!
I don’t understand why Donna Brazile would paint such a negative picture of Hillary. She actually used the word “corrupt”. I thought better of her and am quite surprised. So I guess the upshot is the party wasn’t quite so neutral. Well, Bernie wasn’t quite a Democrat, either. But when it was convenient for him, he used the party’s infrastructure to get known. Plus, he did not contribute to down ballot races. There was no more loyal Democrat than Hillary – and if she bailed out the DNC – good for her. She probably figured she should get something in return. The only part I am disappointed in is that Hillary should have shared the money with the states for down ballot races. I’m kind of surprised she didn’t. Anyway, this didn’t affect the voting for her or Sanders. Democratic voters preferred the Democrat.

She did share money and volunteers with down ticket Dems. Donna is wrong.

Right! That’s what the Hillary Victory Fund was for. Plus she sent volunteers. Bernie is the one who didn’t lift a finger for down ticket Dems.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification.

If you paid attention to her in 2008 you would have understood exactly what she thought of HRC. This is nothing more than a self serving stunt – and a poor Bernie one as well.

We were paying attention to her in 2008. Got the “message to base – stay home.” What some of us forgot was “when somebody shows you who he/she is, believe them.” The defense came from fellow PUMAs and we believed she was being pushed out.

Didn’t mean it to come out as “you” should have said anyone paying attention- we’re on the same page !

This PUMA has never bought into the “give them a chance” rhetoric… 9 years later and the demonizing of Hillary is just as alive and well in DNC land as it was in 2007. I’m with her. I’ll always be a Hillary Democrat.

I’m not a PUMA, but in hindsight, the party should never have let Bernie run in the primary. I think it did more harm than good to Hillary’s candidacy. It seems odd to me that this is a big deal now right when Trump’s mob cohorts are getting arrested in Russia gate. Maybe this is a designed distraction?

Donna Brazile threatened riots in the streets if Hillary Clinton won the democrat nomination because she had more super delegates. The irony being that Obama’s entire advantage was identical to the fraudulent 2-1 caucus lead Obama gained in the primarily Republican Leaning States.
In my Opinion Brazile has never been for Hillary Clinton but has definitely been against her.

In response to Suzie2 Hillary DID raise money for down-ballot and she had her volunteers do the groundwork for those candidates as well. She inherited a broke in-debt 24Million $ DNC with no updated data base etc. She went to work & raised the funds for the DNC then watched over the expenditures so as to not end up broke again. Can’t blame her for that.

Ok. Thanks. I knew she raised money for down ballot but now Brazile says that money was less than 1% of what went down ballot.

I am so mad, my hair hurts! I’ve never liked or trusted donna. If I live to be 100, I will NEVER understand the inexplicable hatred towards Hillary by those who are should be her ally. Sanders has done zero for the democratic party except be a spoiler that helped trump be cheated into the WH. I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if he wasn’t bankrolled by the Russians to help trump and you all know Bernie would do it gladly because he is all about money and himself.
What true socialist owns 3 homes? He’s a fraud and should be shut out because his supporters are totally unrealistic prima donnas who want fee stuff. They don’t care if “someone” else pays their way, as long as they don’t have to pay.
Our country is going down faster than I thought is people like brazille has her way.

Now the Young Turks are completely misrepresenting the Brazile comments. They are trying to blame others when they were responsible for Clinton losing votes because of their vitrol.

HILLARY IS OUR PRESIDENT, PERIOD. People who cannot accept the fact of having a woman President are hopeless. We should not even pay any attention to them.

I was a PUMA in 2008 and throughout the Obama years. When Hillary lost last year, not only did I feel that we (the public) were screwed with Trump as president. It also felt that I would be a Democrat in exile forever.
When the DNC selected Obama as their preferred candidate, they did not realize the damage that Obama would do to the party and the country. Obama did not have the personality to be a fighter the way that Hillary is. He used executive orders to achieve what he could not do legislatively and it’s been easy for #45 to undo.
People did not feel that they were better off after 8 years of Obama and provide an opportunity for Hillary. In addition, under Obama the DNC was bankrupt and Democrats had few state legislators and governors across the country as being a minority in the House and Senate.
I’m beyond disgusted and have vowed to contribute to an individual Democratic candidate, but never to the party.
