This would put Hillary in the running for a Golden Globe and an Emmy!
Hillary Clinton is bringing her passion for women’s rights to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the woman we wish were president will make her executive producing debut with a TV adaptation of Elaine Weiss’ “The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote.” Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television has optioned the rights to the non-fiction book and, alongside Clinton, will develop it as a limited series or TV movie.
Published this March, “The Woman’s Hour” centers on the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, as well as the activists who fought for it. “The book celebrates those who changed history and laid the foundation for the civil rights movement that came decades later,” THR details.

“At the heart of democracy lies the ballot box, and Elaine Weiss’ unforgettable book tells the story of the female leaders who — in the face of towering economic, racial, and political opposition — fought for and won American women’s right to vote,” Clinton said. “Unfolding over six weeks in the summer of 1920, ‘The Woman’s Hour’ is both a page-turning drama and an inspiration for everyone, young and old, male and female, in these perilous times. So much could have gone wrong, but these American women would not take no for an answer: their triumph is our legacy to guard and emulate.” She added, “I am thrilled to be working with Elaine, Steven, and everyone at Amblin Television on bringing this important project to audiences everywhere.”
Donald Trump in the White House, (I won’t say he is president) and the Obamas and Clintons all involved in producing TV shows. We really are living in the Upside Down.
Seriously, this is wonderful news about a big project for Hillary. She will do all the good she can in what ever ways she can as long as she can. And we will all be the better for it. Those pushing for her to run again for president because she was cheated must not know that she was an advocate and a public servant long before she ever entered electoral politics.

I am trying to ignore those people.

Yesterday Dana Milbank (yeah, him) wrote a garbage column about how the Manafort trial revealed Tad Devine as a cynical hypocrite. Totally failing to connect any dots, he still refers to Bernie Sanders as “a principled democratic reformer,” even though he never reformed anything and hired Devine at an exorbitant salary. This morning Melissa McEwan has receipts over at Shakesville and takes all three cynical hypocrites down. A thing of beauty!

I absolutely love her even when I don’t agree with her. Can’t say that about many commentators.
That is a funny tweet. But Michael McKeon won the day with his tweet: Today would be a good day for Alphonse Capone to release his taxes.

I saw that one a few times but didn’t know who originated it. I came upon Melissa’s suddenly while going through the whole thread and nearly spewed on my screen.

And did I mention what a wonderful writer she is? She has a non-political post up today called, “For the Birds”. She’s the best–after you, of course!
