Clinton made the comments during an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Wednesday evening. During the show, Maddow pointed to something Barr had said in his public testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“The point I was trying to make earlier is that, in the situation of the President, who has constitutional authority to supervise proceedings, if in fact a proceeding was not well founded, if it was a groundless proceeding, if it was based on false allegations, the President does not have to sit there, constitutionally, and allow it to run its course,” Barr said during his testimony. “The President could terminate that proceeding, and it would not be a corrupt intent, because he was being falsely accused.”
Maddow said Barr was making the argument that “the President can’t be investigated if the President doesn’t want to be investigated.”
“And that, that is the road to tyranny,” Clinton said. “That is what authoritarians believe and those who service them argue.”
Brilliant as always..

I watched this twice. What awes me about it is how she is not dwelling on what happened to her in 2016, despite the accusations from those who say she is. Instead, she is focused on and trying to focus all of us on the likelihood that we will suffer another foreign attack, only worse, in 2020 since nothing has been done about the 2016 Russian attack. Melissa McEwan observed today what I have felt all thru the current campaign–that everyone except HRC is behaving as though 2016 never happened and 2020 is just another normal election. This kind of thinking serves Trump’s interests very well.

I think we are already under attack – in fact that it never stopped. It transmogrified after 11/08/16, New entities appeared, some in the Hillary camp pretending they had been with us all along on the trail, but there are no such histories behind them. They are still out there determined to shatter the Democratic Party. Unfortunately, I see some of my savviest friends falling for some of their BS. This does not bode well.

I watched the show twice, too. I thought it was that good…and I still think Hillary is fantastic. I feel safe and secure with her – she is calm and knowledgeable and she knows what to do. She’s far superior to any of the people running currently, imo. I just don’t get it. So many people just don’t like her because they believe all the memes that the media puts out on her. People have told me that she is elitist and phony – you name it. I keep thinking are we looking at the same person?? To me, she has always been strong, forthright, and pretty much correct! You know what? I’m glad, in a way, for her, that she’s not President.

Yes, Suzie, if she were president, the nation wouldn’t be under attack, but she would be. The “cartoon” perception of her which her husband talked about at the DNC in 2016 is pure misogyny.
