She “would like to” apologize, but then she did not actually apologize. It is a shame, when you stand on the shoulders of giants, that you forget, even for a moment, how you got there. Hint: It was not thanks to Bernie.
Like a sleep-deprived European critic at the Cannes Film Festival, Rep. Rashida Tlaib let ‘er rip with a hearty “boo!” aimed at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a rally for Senator Bernie Sanders in Clive, Iowa.
The congresswoman from Michigan appeared on a panel alongside Rep. Pramila Jayapal and her fellow so-called “squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar during Sanders’s “Caucus Concert.” Discussion moderator Dionna Langford (an Iowa-based activist and youngest member of the Des Moines Public School board) brought up Secretary Clinton’s recent suggestion made in The Hollywood Reporter that “nobody likes Bernie Sanders.”
Before Langford was able to finish her point, a few people in the crowd jeered, prompting her to say “we’re not gonna’ boo, we’re classy.” Tlaib, chuckling, took that as her cue to gainsay Langford’s position.
“You all know, I can’t be quiet,” she said, as Jayapal and Omar doubled over in laughter.
Hillary is not running and has not endorsed anyone. This blog is not in election year mode at the moment. Tlaib and her squad sisters would do well to keep this etched in their memories going forward.
Charles Pierce whose Esquire column I USED to enjoy, says Hillary can’t stop taking her grievance out for a walk. When Tom Watson said that she wasn’t speaking out of emotion in her Bernie comments, Pierce actually told Watson to tell Hillary “to shut up, for the love of God.” I think Charles Pierce should stop taking his misogyny out for a walk. It’s a real bad look to tell our first woman nominee she’s too emotional and should “shut up”.
One thing I am going to enjoy about this nightmare of a primary is seeing Hillary beat Bernie the second time. And this time she’s not even running!
When I heard of Tliab’s booing Hillary, I immediately contacted her offices in Michigan and DC and expressed my overwhelming disappointment and anger at her having the gall to boo Hillary. I said she and the sanders supporters sounded much like the cult trump supporters and I expected to hear them chanting “lock her up” next. I also told her how horribly the Bernie bros treated Hillary supporters in 2016 and what a sore loser sanders was and who took an entire month before campaigning for her because he was home having a temper tantrum because he did not get the nomination. I reminded her that he lost by 4 million votes. Hardly a close call in who the people wanted as their nominee.
I ended by telling her that 67 million Hillary supporters are mad as hell and are not going to take this crap anymore and that I would work even harder to ensure sanders would get no where near the nomination.
Funny how the Bern It All Down folks are now bragging about winning the popular vote in Iowa caucuses after more than three years of mocking Hillary’s popular vote victory in 2016. If they really wanted the popular vote to determine the winner, they shouldn’t have insisted on keeping the Iowa caucuses and lobbied for even more states to caucus in the Unity and Reform commission. They should have joined actual reformers in calling for ALL primaries. Instead, their attempt to game the system blew up in their faces this time, but they just continue with the gaslighting and, yes, rigging. Those satellite caucus results are reminiscent of elections in the old Soviet Union, a place Bernie is not unfamiliar with.

@U.S. Senate: Time to ratify LOST!
"... ratify the Law of the Sea Convention, which has provided the international framework for exploring these new opportunities in the Arctic. Btw, Hillary won Tlaib’s CD by 30 points in the 2016 Michigan primary. Is this a smart politician, or no?

Pander to Bernie like the Unity and Reform commission did and chaos ensues. When will they ever learn? Chaos is the goal.

I hope this is now the death of the caucuses – finally!
