This is a difficult time. Medical professionals, grocery store employees, delivery drivers, mail carriers, firefighters, police, nursing home employees, and other workers are putting their health and safety on the line to get essential goods and services to the rest of the country. Meanwhile, millions of families are trying to balance work, childcare, homeschooling or distance learning, shopping, cleaning, and more — all while staying inside.
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d like to hear from you. Tell us what you’re doing to get through this time:
As for Bill and I, we’re catching up on reading, watching TV, taking walks while keeping our distance from others, organizing and filing stacks of paper that we let pile up, and staying in touch with our grandkids. Even though these times of separation are difficult, please remember that those of us who can stay home are helping to save lives by doing so. And even though we are apart, we are stronger together.
Whatever your situation, thank you for doing your part. And if you’re struggling, know that the entire Onward Together family is thinking of you.
Stay safe and healthy,
Hillary

It’s a bit painful every time I hear someone utter some variation of “Stronger Together” these days. Not only was it a good campaign slogan, it was another instance when Hillary was prophetic. It’s also painful when people say it would be better if Barrack Obama were president now. No disrespect to President Obama who was a good president, but he didn’t run against Donald Trump. HRC did; she should be president now.

I hear ya! Same here. They don’t even credit her as the source.

And this business of treating Bernie like a winner and a social justice hero instead of a misogynist who helped give us Trump needs to stop. All the while treating Hillary like a pariah. Biden better start showing her some love or, once we’re rid of Trump, I will be rid of Biden. Bernie is a two time loser in presidential primaries while Hillary won the popular vote in every election she ran. But sure, he’s the greatest, and she’s a loser whose name must not be spoken. End of rant!

Just reported that one of the sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, whose Captain was relieved of his command for warning that his sailors were going to die unnecessarily from coronavirus, has died. To repeat, Donald Trump is deliberately killing Americans, and no one is stopping him. Where are the Republicans so outraged by Benghazi? And, once again, where is the media outrage? This is a real scamdal, not a manufactured one.

And if he re-opens the economy (which he cannot since he didn’t close it) and 100,000 people die, he will consider that a victory.

I’m beginning to think that like the sociopath that he is, his only real motive for this horror show is that he actually does enjoy killing people. This is the terrifying thought that I have been trying to resist. Remember when he said he could murder someone on Fifth Ave. and get away with it? This is the only thing he ever said that he was right about.

Or he thinks this will only kill people in blue states.

If Trump thinks red, rural states will not be impacted by COVID-19, he’s in for a big shock. Consider the case of South Dakota. There’s not a redder, more rural state in the country, and Smithfield Foods just indefinitely closed one of the nation’s largest meat packing plants there. Over 240 workers in this one facility have tested positive for coronavirus, about half the cases in the state. Any place where dozens of people congregate for any reason is a potential hot spot. And if too many food suppliers must shut down, that’s trouble for all of us. I don’t know what Trump’s play here is, letting this go on and on unabated, but I swear he’ll kill us all.

Protests outside Governor’s office in St. Paul covered by Fox News. Moments later Trump tweets “Liberate Minnesota!” Maybe it’s Stockholm Syndrome but no thanks! Most of us prefer to be held captive by Gov. Walz till it’s safe to emerge. Test Minnesota!

I think reasonable people understand exactly what the purpose of sheltering in place is. We’re all also watching the stats for our localities. While they continue to rise, no one is foolish enough to say mission accomplished except him.

I hate to keep beating a horse which is unquestionably dead, but the Senate Intel committee, the only congressional panel to hold an actual non-partisan inquiry into 2016 Russian attack on our election, issued its findings today. Yup. They def attacked us. Not only is our president a sociopath. Turns out he’s not even president. No one is paying attention anymore, and another election is coming. What does everyone think is going to happen? Trump may need a little more help this time, but he’ll still get help. Putin has been so wildly successful at crippling the US, there’s no way he’s going to stop now.

People are expressing shock and dismay that yesterday evening Trump told Americans to drink bleach. My question is, at this point, why would anyone even be mildly surprised?

Hell, I’m not even surprised the NYT is doing “both sides” coverage to the “drink bleach and sit in the sun to cure what ails you” edict. If this were an actual horror film, it would be rejected as too predictable. All the suspense is gone.
