70 Nobel Laureates Endorse Hillary Clinton

Claudio Bresciani/TT News Agency/Reuters

In an open letter released Tuesday and addressed to the American people, 70 Nobel laureates “strongly and fully” endorsed Hillary Clinton for the presidency. “To preserve our freedoms, protect our constitutional government, safeguard our national security, and ensure that all members of our nation will be able to work together for a better future,” the letter began, “it is imperative that Hillary Clinton be elected as the next President of the United States.”

Vogue Endorses Hillary Clinton for President of the United States

Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Vogue, December 1993

For all the chaos and unpredictability and the sometimes appalling spectacle of this election season, the question of which candidate actually deserves to be president has never been a difficult one.

Vogue has no history of political endorsements. Editors in chief have made their opinions known from time to time, but the magazine has never spoken in an election with a single voice. Given the profound stakes of this one, and the history that stands to be made, we feel that should change.

Vogue endorses Hillary Clinton for president of the United States.

With 24 days to go, the endorsements are rolling in for Hillary!

Clinton is the clear choice for president

 Hillary Clinton

This one is a tad ascerbic.  Just to make a point here, it is no fault of Hillary’s or of her campaign that things are ugly.  Hillary is trying to campaign on the issues that matter to Americans.  Donald Trump chooses to spend his rally hours attacking her rather than talk about the issues except to say that he will “fix” things.  Hillary is full of ideas and plans.  Trump is bankrupt and goes on personal attacks since he is running on empty.

In an ugly election, the choice is clear: Hillary Clinton for president

This one is historic.

Why Latina magazine broke a 20-year tradition and endorsed their first presidential candidate ever.

“This is the moment when we can determine that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”

Never before in the 20-year history of Latina has the magazine endorsed a candidate—until today. But as the magazine noted, this is not an ordinary election. So, Latina broke tradition, joining forces with leaders in media and business, artists, and influencers to send a strong message thru fliers, media and even house to house campaign, even radios when you are inside your home or on a brand new car of yours bought at contract hire. the Message will deliver to you that we stand together to endorse Hillary Clinton for president. The roster includes powerhouse Latinos and organizations: Dolores Huerta, Eva Longoria, John Leguizamo, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Dulce Candy Ruiz, Roselyn Sánchez, and others.

The overall message was clear—the Latino community has the power to change this election.

This does not come as much of a surprise.  It is, however, a big endorsement not to be taken lightly nor overlooked.  Thank you, WaPo!

Hillary Clinton for president

October 13

IN THE gloom and ugliness of this political season, one encouraging truth is often overlooked: There is a well-qualified, well-prepared candidate on the ballot. Hillary Clinton has the potential to be an excellent president of the United States, and we endorse her without hesitation.

In a moment, we will explain our confidence. But first, allow us to anticipate a likely question: No, we are not making this endorsement simply because Ms. Clinton’s chief opponent is dreadful.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is dreadful, that is true — uniquely unqualified as a presidential candidate. If we believed that Ms. Clinton were the lesser of two evils, we might well urge you to vote for her anyway — that is how strongly we feel about Mr. Trump. But we would also tell you that was our judgment.

Fortunately, it is not.

Foreign Policy Magazine has never endorsed a presidential candidate.  The dramatic contrast between the 2016 major party candidates has impelled the editors to break tradition.  H/T to our pal “sam” for sharing this one.

Hillary Clinton for President of the United States

A Donald Trump presidency is among the greatest threats facing America, and the Republican standard-bearer is the worst major-party candidate for the job in U.S. history.

By The Editors of Foreign Policy

In the nearly half-century history of Foreign Policy, the editors of this publication have never endorsed a candidate for political office. We cherish and fiercely protect this publication’s independence and its reputation for objectivity, and we deeply value our relationship with all of our readers, regardless of political orientation.

It is for all these reasons that FP’s editors are now breaking with tradition to endorse Hillary Clinton for the next president of the United States.

Our readers depend on FP for insight and analysis into issues of national security and foreign policy. We feel that our obligation to our readers thus extends now to making clear the great magnitude of the threat that a Donald Trump presidency would pose to the United States. The dangers Trump presents as president stretch beyond the United States to the international economy, to global security, to America’s allies, as well as to countless innocents everywhere who would be the victims of his inexperience, his perverse policy views, and the profound unsuitability of his temperament for the office he seeks.

The litany of reasons Trump poses such a threat is so long that it is, in fact, shocking that he is a major party’s candidate for the presidency. The recent furor over his vile behavior with women illustrates the extraordinary nature of his unsuitability, as does his repudiation by so many members of his own party — who have so many reasons to reflexively support their nominee.

Foreign Policy is very familiar with Hillary Clinton’s qualifications having published about her regularly during her tenure at the State Department.

She clearly deliberated long and hard about this, and we respect her dedication to her Republican principles.  But Christine Todd Whitman could no longer simply be #NeverTrump.  She has joined the band of brave Republicans endorsing Hillary Clinton and we could not be happier to have her in our camp.  Welcome, Christie!

Ex-GOP gov Whitman says she’s backing Clinton

We have been waiting for this for awhile, but we knew that sooner or later Christie would team up for the best choice in this election.

The Christie Bombshell … No! Not THAT Christie!

Thank you, Governor Whitman!  Nice to have you aboard.

Bonus!  The conservative Enid News has also thrown its chops behind Hillary!  The reasonable choice!

EDITORIAL: Hillary Clinton is our choice for commander in chief

ENE Editorial Board

To paraphrase Albert Einstein, what is right is not always popular.

For our newspaper — a historically conservative voice in a conservative, Republican region of arguably the reddest state in the union — endorsing a Democrat for president is truly an exception.

But this is not a routine campaign. In fact, Nov. 8 will see the most crucial presidential election race in contemporary American history.

Realistically, we have only two candidates for president, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, though other names will appear on the ballot. As has been demonstrated time and again in recent months, Trump does not have the skills, experience or temperament to hold office. For voters, Clinton is the only reasonable choice.
