Hillary Clinton: Meet our newest Onward Together partner

It’s been a busy few months. Chelsea and I have been on tour for our first book together, The Book of Gutsy Women. Meeting people — and hearing about the gutsy women in your own lives — has been a source of inspiration for us and the entire Onward team as we prepare to head into 2020 stronger than ever.

Our family grew this year with the arrival of our third grandchild. And I’m thrilled to tell you that the Onward Together family is growing, too; we’re adding two new partner organizations this winter. The first, Texas Civil Rights Project, is working to advance equality and justice in Texas through legal advocacy and litigation.

Before you sit down and share a meal with loved ones today, I’d like to ask you to consider making a donation that will be evenly split among 12 groups working to protect children and families who have been affected by the administrations cruel border policies.

More than a year after the first reports of children being taken away from their parents at the border, there is still so much work to do, from reuniting families to making sure that those seeking asylum have the resources they need to navigate a complicated system.Too often, it feels as though all we can do is read the news and be heartbroken. I’m grateful that, over and over again, this team has chosen to take action.

Hillary Rodham Clinton came to King’s College London last week for an event in conversation with former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, former US Secretary of State and the first female presidential candidate of a major US political party, came to King’s College London last week for an event in conversation with former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

Organised by the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and the Policy Institute, the event was the first in a new King’s series called World Questions, which aims to promote new perspectives, insights and solutions from global leaders with first-hand experience of making change. The discussion between Secretary Clinton and Julia Gillard centred on barriers to women’s leadership, the increasingly toxic culture for women in politics and The Book of Gutsy Women, Clinton’s new book written with her daughter, Chelsea.

Gillard kicked off the discussion, taking us back 25 years to the then First Lady’s speech in Beijing, where she famously said: “Human rights are women’s rights, and women’s rights are human rights”. While both leaders acknowledged that much progress had since been made on political and legal rights, Clinton stressed the multiple barriers still faced by women in the workplace and at home:

Hillary Clinton says ‘many, many, many people’ pressuring her to consider 2020 presidential run

Washington (CNN)Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday said “many, many, many people” were pressuring her to consider a 2020 presidential bid, but held that it is “absolutely not in my plans.”

“I, as I say, never, never, never say never and I will certainly tell you I’m under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it,” Clinton told BBC Radio. “But as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans.”

CNN previously reported that Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee, has been taking calls from other members of her party asking her to enter the 2020 race, but it remains unlikely she would do so.

Democratic voters want the 2020 field to shrink, not grow

Clinton said in March that she would not run for president again in 2020, but her reentry into the public sphere with taunts aimed at President Donald Trump in recent weeks has stoked speculation she could be considering a rematch with the President.
