There’s a story I tell in my book What Happened that I’ve been thinking about this week. A short while after last November’s election, I attended a dance recital for my granddaughter Charlotte. Now, Charlotte was only two at the time, and as you might expect, she and her friends hadn’t quite mastered their performances.
As I watched Charlotte and her friends laugh and fall down and get up again, I thought about how glad I was to be there, watching my granddaughter have the time of her life on stage.
In a hard year, it can seem impossible to take the time to be grateful. But even as we’re doubling down in the fight to defend our shared values, there is so much to be thankful for. Time with our loved ones. The victories we’ve seen recently. A resistance that is refusing to be silenced by hateful, divisive rhetoric.
And I’m grateful for you.
This warm, smart, big-hearted team has given me so much — from your support during my last campaign to your kind notes, hugs, and well-wishes. Now I’m asking you for one more thing: not to give up.
If you’re with me, add your name right now.
May your holiday be warm and full of love,
Hillary

From Hillary Clinton: Celebrate now, but there’s work ahead!
Posted in 2017, 2017 Elections, 2018 Elections, Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Onward Together, Uncategorized, tagged 2017 Elections, 2018 Elections, Hillary Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Onward Together on November 8, 2017| Leave a Comment »
Hillary Clinton and Onward Together have every reason to celebrate last night’s election results along with all Democrats. If you supported Onward Together, you heard from her today. If you haven’t supported them yet, perhaps you want to consider it. The Big Blue Wave began last night. Let’s keep it going all the way through this year. 2018 is just around the corner now. Look for Hillary with Seth Meyers on Late Night tonight!
Last night, we were reminded what is possible when we come together and fight for what we believe in.
With the support of Onward Together, 40% of the candidates that Run for Something endorsed and supported won their races in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and more — compared to the 10% rate at which first-time candidates usually win. 86 women trained by Emerge America won last night, including nine of the seats flipped in Virginia. Color of Change PAC was instrumental in winning the district attorney race in Philadelphia. And Indivisible groups made more than 600,000 calls into Virginia to help pull out a win for Ralph Northam, Justin Fairfax, and Mark Herring.
This year hasn’t been what any of us had hoped it would be. In fact, it’s been frustrating and, at times, painful. But we never lost faith in our vision of an America where our children and grandchildren can grow up safe and loved, and with every opportunity they deserve.
To those of you who worked your hearts out for these victories, including our friends on the ground in Virginia, New Jersey, and more: thank you. I am so proud to be on your team.
As we celebrate today, we also have to remember the work ahead of us. The groups that Onward Together supports — including Swing Left, which is focused on taking back the House — have been making incredible progress in the fight for 2018 and beyond. We saw again last night that we are at our strongest when we stand together.
Take a moment to celebrate, then consider donating $25 to Onward Together to support this work in the months and years ahead — we really need you now more than ever.
Onward!
Hillary

I could not be prouder of the groups we work with here at Onward Together.
The leaders who are part of these groups are incredibly smart and passionate. They’ve taken the anger and frustration many of us have been feeling for the last year and turned it into action — like thousands of phone calls to Congress, hundreds of new volunteers, and dozens of first-time candidates for office.
But this work wouldn’t be possible without support from people across the country. That’s why it’s so important that you become a Founding Donor to Onward Together by starting a monthly donation today — your contribution will help this work continue in the months and years ahead.

Don’t let the trolls get you down. Notice that they never promote funding. That is because they are working against the grassroots and, by default, against HRC. Neither do they receive these emails because they are foreign agents who cannot donate, and therefore are not on the funding lists. See below. Think about that.

Onward Together Endorses Emerge America

Friend –Like many of you, I’ve been reading a lot of news since the election. And some of the smartest, most enjoyable reading I’ve done has come from women who write about politics, culture, and the world around us.These women haven’t let the frustrations and disappointment of the last year knock them down. They’re leading new discussions about the fights ahead of us and need for passionate activism. They’re starting new chapters of their lives — getting married, raising their children. And they’re finding new ways to change our world for the better.I hope you’ll take a moment to read more below about the work that another group Onward Together has endorsed, Emerge America, is doing to increase the number of women in public office. Over and over again, I’ve heard from young women running for office that Emerge gave them the tools they needed to get started. I’m grateful for that. Our communities — from our families and workplaces to our neighborhoods and states — are smarter and stronger when women have an equal seat at the table.
And to any women reading this, I hope you’ll consider taking a chance on running for office. Being your champion was the honor of a lifetime — now it’s my turn to be on your team.
Onward!

Onward Together works to build a brighter future for generations to come by supporting groups that encourage people to organize in their communities or run for office. Because you’re an important part of Onward Together, we wanted you to get a chance to know these groups a little bit better. To learn more about Onward Together, click here.
The organization: Emerge AmericaThe organizer: Andrea Dew Steele, President and Founder
The mission: To increase the number of Democratic women leaders from diverse backgrounds in public office by recruiting, training and providing a powerful network. The vision: To change the face of power, politics, and leadership in this country in order to have policies that are responsive to all Americans.
The story: Struck by the incredible lack of women holding elected office at the local level in San Francisco, Andrea co-founded Emerge California in 2002 to lead the fight to get more women elected to office in Northern California. Emerge California’s top notch training program quickly became successful. So in 2005, Andrea founded Emerge America to replicate the model in all 50 states. Emerge America currently has affiliates with staff on the ground in 22 states with plans to expand across the country.
The latest: On Election Day in November 2016, 150 of the 214 Emerge America alumnae on the ballot won their races–a 70% win-rate. Since then, the number of women applying to Emerge America’s training programs has increased by more than 85%, with no signs of slowing down. In 2017, Emerge America alumnae have won 88 out of 117 races – that is a 75% win rate. Emerge is not waiting until 2018 to win elections.
The next step: Already, 309 Emerge America alumnae have stepped forward to run in 2017 and 2018. Next month, 18 Emerge Virginia-trained women will be on the ballot for the Virginia House of Delegates. Visit emergeamerica.org to learn more.
Kill the Bill Events Monday 09/25

Indivisible is one of the grassroots organizations Hillary Clinton’s Onward Together has endorsed. They are promoting 94 events on Monday, September 25 to protest Graham Cassidy.
For months, Indivisible groups have been showing up at congressional offices across the country to say no to TrumpCare. On July 18th, Indivisibles showed up in 40 states for our first national day of action. With TrumpCare a ticking time bomb, it’s time for the whole Indivisible network to show up once again and use our constituent pressure together.
On Monday, September 25th, instead of standing together, we’re asking Indivisible groups across the country to sit together — either holding sit-ins or die-ins at district offices.
Trump and the Senate Republicans have been put on a tight deadline if they have any hope of passing TrumpCare, and we’re going to do everything we can to stop them. RSVP to an event, show your constituent power, and spread the word.
In partnership with UltraViolet.

It has been a joy to see so many of you during the first days of touring for “What Happened” and my new children’s book, “It Takes a Village.” Your smiles and stories warm my heart, and your promises to keep fighting inspire me. I’m looking forward to seeing many more of you over the next few weeks, across the country and even at home in our favorite independent bookstore in Chappaqua.
One thing I’m hearing over and over again is a question I’ve gotten a lot since the election: “How are you doing?”
The answer is that, as an American, I’m pretty concerned. But as a person, I’m okay. It’s nice to be able to spend so much time at home with Bill and our dogs, and to catch up with friends I haven’t seen in a while. I’ve even been doing a little gardening with our granddaughter — Charlotte is particularly proud of our peas and peppers.
Last week, I had the opportunity to speak at a memorial service for Edie Windsor, whose Supreme Court case helped pave the way for marriage equality. Her service, much like her life, was a reminder that in the fight for a more perfect union, love will always be stronger than hate. I’ll be thinking of Edie this week as we forge ahead in our own fight, and I hope you will, too.

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to Onward Together, posted about it on Facebook, or talked to your friends about this team. I’m thrilled to share a little bit in the profile below about one of the groups that Onward Together has endorsed, Color of Change, and the work they’re doing.

The organization: Color Of ChangeThe organizer: Rashad Robinson, Executive Director of Color Of Change
The mission: To mobilize participation in winning campaigns that accelerate progress toward racial justice — in criminal justice reform, voting rights, fairness in news reporting and entertainment media, economic justice, environmental justice and other critical issues that affect Black people, people of color, and all people even on the online world with wide understanding.
The story: With more than one million members, Color Of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. Founded in response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, its purpose was to create an effective, powerful organizing platform for Black people and their allies to unite their voices, leverage technology, engage the media, and ultimately hold corporate and government decision makers accountable. Color Of Change works to change the rules of policy, politics, media and corporate practices at the local, state and national levels–to create a more human and less hostile world for all people.
The latest: Over the last year, Color Of Change has been at the forefront of holding accountable those who enable Trump and the extremist, right wing agenda he stands for, from corporate executives to local prosecutors. Color Of Change has led successful campaigns to get Glenn Beck (2011) and Bill O’Reilly (2017) ousted from Fox News; force business leaders to abandon Trump’s various business councils; force Paypal, American Express, and a number of finance and tech companies to cut off payment processing — and therefore the fuel — to white supremacist groups that are trying to create more attacks on our values like Charlottesville; and to make sure politicians stand up for freedoms instead of caving to corporate interests.
The next step: Color Of Change will continue leading the fight to end mass incarceration, police violence, and unfair bail practices, while holding prosecutors accountable to making decisions that favor community safety and growth rather than corporate profits. Most critically, Color Of Change will use public pressure to hold Trump’s enablers accountable and cut off his power base, end some of the most harmful and far-reaching policies and practices of his administration, and mobilize Black voters at higher and higher levels. Friend —
I have been thinking lately about bravery — the bravery of citizens like Heather Heyer who lost her life fighting the organized forces of hate and divisiveness, of volunteers who are rescuing strangers in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, and of young DACA recipients who are fighting for their future in the only country they know and love.
Some days, it feels like the work left to do is insurmountable. But if I’ve learned anything, it’s that those are the days we need each other the most. That’s one of the reasons we created Onward Together: to support smart, passionate activists who know what needs to be done and could use a little bit of our help to get there. You can read more about one of the groups we’re supporting, Run for Something, below. I hope that in learning more about these groups, you find yourself inspired to get in what my friend John Lewis calls “good, necessary trouble.”
I’ve also been reading a lot. I was riveted by historian Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny” and by Elena Ferrante’s final Neapolitan novel. Yes, I’ve enjoyed a few good mystery novels, too. And I’ve been fortunate enough to see quite a bit of theater — if you get the chance to see “Come From Away” on Broadway, take it.
This fall, I’ll be embarking on a book tour of my own — which means that I’ll be able to see many of you while I’m out on the road. Click here to get more information about where and how you can get tickets, and hopefully I’ll see you soon.

The organization: Run for SomethingThe organizers: Amanda Litman, former HFA email director, and Ross Morales Rocketto, veteran campaigner and political operative.
The mission: Recruiting and supporting talented, passionate young people who will advocate for progressive values now and for the next 30 years, with the ultimate goal of building a progressive bench.
The story: When Amanda and Ross launched Run for Something on Inauguration Day, they thought they’d have to push and push to eventually get even 100 people to learn more about running for local office. Instead, they’ve recruited more than 11,000 young activists, community leaders, students, educators, small-business owners, and thinkers to sign up to make real change in their own communities.
The latest: With the support they’ve received from Onward Together, Run for Something was able to endorse and support seven young candidates in the Virginia House of Delegates primary elections — and they’ve now endorsed 78 amazing young people running for local office in 19 states. Plus, every candidate who meets the basic criteria qualifies for access to Run for Something’s mentorship program, which connects campaign experts — including senior staff from at least three presidential campaigns — with first-time candidates.
The next step: Getting ready for the Virginia House of Delegates election on November 7th. Head to runforsomething.net to learn more.

Introducing Verrit: Media for the 65.8 Million
65,853,516 Americans voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, giving her a decisive popular vote victory over Donald Trump. Clinton’s voters came from all backgrounds and political persuasions; some supported other candidates in the primaries; but all had common interests and aspirations, among them a repudiation of what Trump’s campaign stood for.
The Clinton coalition remains strong and engaged. #StillWithHer is a widely-used hashtag that reflects a mindset and a mission: to fight for a future where love trumps hate, dignity overcomes division, equality and justice defeat extremism and bigotry.

The speculation about what happened on Nov. 8, 2016 and the months preceding that day have reached a fever pitch in recent months. Book after book has hit the market, each with its own theory about why Hillary Clinton lost and why Donald Trump won. Next month, Clinton will get a chance to tell her truth in her highly-anticipated post-election memoir, What Happened. For the first time, Clinton will allow readers a behind-the-scenes look at what it was actually like to be the first woman nominated for president by a major party, and how she weathered an election rocked by sexism and spectacle. Bustle is excited to reveal an exclusive excerpt from Clinton’s memoir, available Sept. 12, 2017 from Simon & Schuster.

Friend —
First of all, thank you. To have your support in this next venture means so much to me. Onward Together is the true culmination of a great deal of thinking and listening over the last few months, and I’m excited to continue sharing our work with you.
It’s been amazing to watch what the groups Onward Together is uplifting have been up to — from recruiting thousands of young people to run for office to organizing at town halls across the country. I wanted to make sure you knew all the good they were doing, so I’ll be passing on updates every once in a while. (See the first one about Indivisible below.)
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of traveling, seeing family, and making edits to my next book, which is my most personal yet. It’s a book about what happened in the 2016 election, what we can learn from it, and what we can all do now. But even more than that, it’s a book about resilience — about getting knocked down and getting back up. I can’t wait for you to be able to read it in September, and I look forward to seeing many of you across the country this fall.
I also had the a chance to see Wonder Woman finally, and it was just as inspirational as I’d suspected a movie about a strong, powerful woman in a fight to save the world from international disaster would be.
I hope you’re all enjoying your summers, and that you get a chance to relax with the people you love. Thank you, again, for your continued support. I can’t do any of this work without you. This team is one I’ll always be proud to be a part of — I hope you will, too.
Onward!

The organization: IndivisibleThe organizers: Leah Greenberg, former staffer for Representative Tom Perriello of Virginia, and her husband Ezra Levin, former staffer for Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas.
The mission: To fuel a progressive grassroots network to defeat the Trump agenda by holding each and every member of Congress accountable to their constituents.
The story: Leah and Ezra came up with the Indivisible Guide to affecting change in Congress over drinks with friends a few weeks after the 2016 election. They put their initial 23-page google doc online, and it blew up — it’s now been downloaded more than 2 million times and inspired more than 5,800 local Indivisible chapters across the country, including at least two in each congressional district.
The latest: Indivisible is financially independent, but they’re great friends to the progressive movement. Together with organizations like Planned Parenthood, Indivisible had led the charge in directing thousands of people to town hall meetings across the country and hundreds of thousands of calls to members of Congress — so much so that they have been credited as a force in the fight that led to the defeat of the Republicans’ repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
The next step: Republican leadership may not be letting up in their attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but Indivisible isn’t letting up, either.
