Hillary held a ‘cafe event’ in Vallejo, California as the primary results from Puerto Rico were trickling in today.  These ‘cafe events’ are roundtable discussions where she sits down with local residents and community leaders and listens to their concerns on particular issues as well as some local solutions to problems. These are signature Hillary Clinton events that she has held ever since  her first campaign for the Senate. They are not rousing rallies, but they inform her policy plans.  The subject today was health care.

Hillary Clinton joined George Stephanopoulos on This Week this morning, live from California.

‘This Week’ Transcript: Hillary Clinton

By ABC News

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT FOR ‘THIS WEEK’ ON June 5, 2016 and it will be updated.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Madam Secretary, thank you for joining us.

HILLARY CLINTON: Thank you, George

STEPHANOPOULOS: Your supporters have been pretty fired up in the last couple of days as you’ve been taking it to Donald Trump, and you also step it up using words like demagogue and dictator. Have you concluded that the best way to beat Donald Trump is to be a bit more like him?

CLINTON: No, not at all. I laid out in my speech in San Diego the crux of my concerns and my case against him on foreign policy and national security. And a lot of what he says plays into what I consider to be a very divisive and dangerous view of the world. And I think it’s important that we call it for what it is.

Hillary has won the Virgin Islands caucuses.  The U.S. Virgin Islands send seven delegates to Philadelphia. We do not know how many of these she won, but she gets closer every day!

Hillary Clinton sweeps to victory in US Virgin Islands – almost as big a margin as Barack Obama had in 2008

Hillary Clinton has swept to victory in the US Virgin Islands, picking up all seven pledged delegates at stake as she inched tantalisingly close to the Democratic nomination for the White House.

She is now just 60 delegates short of the 2,383 needed to advance to the November general election.

The party said Mrs Clinton won 84.2% of the vote, while Bernie Sanders earned 12.2%. Under Democratic National Committee rules, a candidate must win at least 15% of the vote to be eligible to receive delegates.

Hillary held a conversational event for women and families at Jill’s Place in Santa Barbara.  I cannot help thinking this visit it a very felicitous one. Santa Barbara is a very powerful figure in certain cultures.  I think she was smiling down on Hillary today.

Hillary held a conversational event on immigration at Los Angeles Mission College Culinary Arts Institute in Sylmar, California.  I think the reason Hillary’s plans are so completely thought out and filled out is that she spends time listening to people talk about their concerns and apprehensions.  She thinks about these details as she structures her policy plans.  It is easy, speaking in generalities, to whip up a crowd at a big rally.  But when you send your surrogates into the platform committee will they have bullets and talking points in hand?  Or will they have detailed, organized plans?  You learn a whole lot more listening than you can speaking.  One candidate alone is a good, effective listener.

One of my favorite things about going out on the trail for my mom is hearing your personal stories — why you’re involved in this campaign, and why this election matters to you and your family.

You’re the reason why this fight is so important. I hope you’ll come out tomorrow to join me for an organizing meeting so we can talk about bringing home a primary win in New Jersey on June 7th.

Pick the location that works best for you:

WHAT: Hudson County Organizing Event
WHEN:Monday, June 6th, 2016
We’ll get started at 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Renaissance Building
6201 Grand Avenue
North Bergen, New Jersey 07047

WHAT: Morris County Organizing Event
WHEN:Monday, June 6th, 2016
We’ll get started at 1:30 p.m.
WHERE: Fair Bridge Inn & Suites
130 Route 10 West
East Hanover, New Jersey 07936

We’re going to talk about my mom’s plans to make families stronger in New Jersey and across the country. She’s going to break the barriers holding back our neglected communities — she’ll do the hard but important work of making sure race, gender, and class don’t limit anyone’s potential. My mom’s committed to continuing the fight for affordable health care, paid leave, and access to higher education.

People in New Jersey have a pivotal role to play in making sure she secures the nomination and is ready to take on Donald Trump in the fall. I hope you’ll come out and join me on Monday to talk about what you can do.

See you there!

On Friday, Hillary held a rally with voters in Westminster at the Rose Center Theater and sat down with community leaders in Santa Ana.

In her interview with Jake Tapper earlier in the day, Hillary condemned violence in the political arena.  Here is what was happening outside this event in Westminster.

Hillary Clinton in O.C.: Fans, friends and a woman with socks wait outside a rally in Westminster

It’s the anti- anti-Trump crowd.

Dozens of supporters are waiting outside a conference center in Westminster, waiting to see Hillary Clinton and, so far, not an egg has been tossed or a pinata decapitated in effigy.

Unlike rallys for Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, which sparked clashes involving Trump supporters and anti-Trump protesters, the mood outside the Westminster Rose Center – where Clinton is slated to speak at 1:45 p.m. – is tame.

Dressed head to toe in navy colored “Hillary 4 president” gear, Helen Evers brought a life size cardboard cut-out of Clinton that she received last month as a birthday present.

“I desperately want to meet her,” said Evers, 70, of Costa Mesa, as she wore socks that had “HILLARY” on it.
