Hillary Clinton Receives the American Patriot Award

Last night, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center,  the National Defense University Foundation honored Hillary Clinton with the American Patriot Award.  in these pictures we see her with National Defense University (NDU) Foundation Chairman Albert Zimmerman and NDU Foundation President Cathleen Pearl who presented the award.

The American Patriot Award recognizes men and women of extraordinary caliber whose leadership has strengthened our nation’s strategic interests and advanced global security.

Past honorees include: Admiral William H. McRaven and the Men and Women of US Special Operations Command, Senators Joe Lieberman and John McCain, Dr. Robert M. Gates, General David Patraeus and the Men and Women of Central Command, The Honorable Henry Kissinger, The Honorables John Warner and Ike Skelton, The Honorable John H. Glenn, Daniel K. Inouye,  and The Honorable Ted Stevens, The Honorable Bob Dole, Paul D. Wolfowitz on behalf of military and civilian ‘fallen heros’, President George H.W. Bush, The Honorable Caspar Weinberger, and General Colin Powell.

The American Patriot Award recognizes men and women of extraordinary caliber whose leadership has strengthened our nation’s strategic interests and advanced global security.

The American Patriot Award Gala is attended by more than 500 guests to include: Administration officials, members of Congress, senior military leaders, wounded warriors, and corporate and community leaders from across the nation.  The evening includes a reception and dinner program with remarks by individuals who have been particularly touched by the life and career of our honorees.

 Support of the American Patriot Award Gala benefits the National Defense University (NDU).  NDU is America’s preeminent joint institution for military, civilian, and diplomatic national security education, research and outreach in national and international security.  The NDU Foundation serves as the conduit of private-public partnership, ensuring NDU remains the crown jewel of joint military, inter-agency, multi-national education and leader development for national security.

President Clinton will also be accorded a high honor next Wednesday when he receives the Presidential Medal of Freedom.  If you are in the vicinity of the Clinton Presidential Center, you can join the “Watch Party” being held there that morning.  Admission is free, but a reservation is required.  Go here for information >>>>.
