Barbara Walters: “I want her to take my place”
After 50 years on television Barbara Walters is hanging up her teleprompter and calling quits. How do you replace such an icon? That remains to be known but if it were up to Barbara she says she’d pass the torch to Hillary Clinton. But since Hillary may be busy for the next four to eight years we explore some other options.

Tomorrow morning will be the final day that Barbara Walters will be anchoring the show she started, The View. Rumors that Hillary will be on board to bid her a fond farewell appear to be true.

Hillary honored two men who were very special to her, Richard Holbrooke and Tom Lantos, flew to South Africa with the Obamas and Bushes to pay final respects to Nelson Mandela, and tweeted birthday wishes to John Kerry.
As the year was closing, Barbara Walters named Hillary the most fascinating person of 2013 and of the 20 years she had been doing her Most Fascinating People show. We are all pretty confident that Hillary will continue to fascinate even though Barbara is retiring and will no longer be doing the show.

Under wraps until tonight was her choice for “most fascinating.” Nine of the ten names had been released prior to the broadcast of the ABC special tonight.

It was not until nearly the end of the program that her pick for the most fascinating was revealed, and it was our girl, Hillary Clinton.
Not a surprising selection to Hillary’s loyalists, it is a gratifying pick. Thank you Hillary for all you do, and thank you Barbara for choosing her! We could not agree more!

Hillary Clinton is Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating Person of 2013.
Although speculation and rumors have been swirling for months over whether Clinton will make another run for the White House in 2016, she said she hasn’t decided yet.
“I haven’t made up my mind,” Clinton told Walters in the ABC News special “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013.”
“Obviously, I will look carefully at what I think I can do and make that decision sometime next year.”

“It’s such a difficult decision, and it’s one that I’m not going to rush into … and I don’t think we should be looking at the next election,” Clinton said. “I think we should be looking at the work that we have today. Our unemployment rate is too high. We have people getting kicked off food stamps who are in terrible economic straits. Small business is not getting credit, I could go on and on, so I think we ought to pay attention to what’s happening right now.”
