It is possible that your Hillary friends already have Hard Choices – perhaps even signed. In that case I strongly recommend another memoir from Hillary’s State Department. The Dispensable Nation by Vali Nasr is excellent. An advisor to Richard Holbrooke at the State Department and strong Hillary Clinton ally and supporter, Nasr provides his account of efforts by the Secretary of State and the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP) to bring peace to the region. It is the book Hillary did not write and serves as an informative backstory to Hard Choices.
In the event you are thinking of something a little pricier, another cool idea would be to get a Nook, Kindle, or other tablet and pre-load it with e-copies of both of these.

Thanks to Buzzfeed‘s Ruby Cramer, we have a verifiable record of first-week sales. They are nowhere near as anemic as those in certain quarters have tried to characterize them Wishful thinking on their part is my guess. Hillary Clinton’s new memoir, Hard Choices, topped the Barnes & Noble best-seller list in its first week, according to the company’s Nielsen BookScan sales numbers released to publishers on Monday and obtained by BuzzFeed.
Barnes & Noble, the country’s largest retail bookseller, has sold just over 24,000 copies of the book since its release on June 10. Hard Choices debuted at No. 1 on the bookseller’s hardcover best-seller list, which includes fiction and nonfiction.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Barnes & Noble, Inc. (BKS), the nation’s largest retail bookseller and the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced that former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will kick off her national book tour for Hard Choices on Tuesday, June 10, at the Union Square Barnes & Noble (33 East 17th Street) in Manhattan. Secretary Clinton will sign copies of her new book beginning at 11:00 A.M.
A limited number of wristbands will be distributed starting at 8 A.M. on Tuesday, June 10, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers will have their copies of Hard Choices signed in the order they arrive. A limit of one book per customer will be signed and the signing of other books or memorabilia will not be permitted. The author will sign a limited number of copies of Hard Choices. Secretary Clinton will also appear at Barnes & Noble at the Grove in Los Angeles on June 19 at 11:30 A.M. Pacific Time.
