Hillary talked about what needs to be done as well as how we are going to get those things done.
Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, speaks during a “Women for Hillary” town hall event at Medgar Evans College in Brooklyn, New York, U.S., on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Clinton is becoming increasingly irritated by Bernie Sanders’ pointed attacks that portray her as a tool of special interests, people close to her say, leading her to sharpen her approach to the primary at a time when she hoped to get a head start on the general election. Hillary popped in for a a visit with the ladies of The View on ABC today. She talked Trump, the primaries, and what she thinks the job entails:
Make a difference;
Keep us safe;
Bring us together.
Discussing the mean side of campaigning, she said that over the years she has grown a tough skin and joked that she has a great cream for anyone who is interested.
She suggested a contest to decide WJC’s official title should she prevail, and the ladies brought up grandmotherhood which she is enjoying immensely. They gave her a pair of pantsuits: one for Charlotte and one for the new little one coming soon.
It was a lovely visit that concluded with the obligatory selfie.
Reminder: Look for Hillary on BET tonight at the Black Girls Rock event and again later ABC will rebroadcast Hillary’s last visit to Jimmy Kimmel in case you missed it or want to see it again.
Hillary brought her campaign to the capital region this evening. Appearing with her were Rep. Paul Tonko and Hillary’s successor in the Senate, Kirsten Gillibrand.

Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders agreed Monday to a Democratic debate in Brooklyn on April 14 — five days before the critical New York presidential primary.
Their agreement means the political world will be focused on New York that night. While the Democrats are in Brooklyn, the three Republican candidates will be in Manhattan speaking at the annual New York GOP gala.
Hillary Clinton to Host Women For Hillary Town Hall with Congresswomen Yvette Clarke and First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray
Brooklyn, NY — On Tuesday, April 5, Hillary Clinton will host a Women for Hillary town hall meeting in Brooklyn. At the event, Clinton will discuss how, as President, she will continue her life long fight to break down barriers holding women and girls back so they can reach their God-given potential.
Hillary Clinton believes the issues that affect women’s lives – from equal pay to paid family leave to access to health care – are not just “women’s issues” but are family issues, economic issues, and are crucial to our future competitiveness. Clinton has been a leader in supporting women’s rights including access to basic health care and reproductive choice. She will stand up to Republicans, like Donald Trump, and prevent them from defunding Planned Parenthood or taking us backward by restricting access to cancer screenings and affordable birth control.

It is unfortunate that this post popped up in a newsfeed prior to the event. To forestall inaccurate and exploitative narratives regarding this event, a few things need to be clarified.
First, Hillary Clinton endorsed this effort long ago. Her role in this movement has always been clear.
Sunday morning, Hillary Clinton promised more than 1,200 low-wage, fast food workers around the nation that she will support their fight for a $15 minimum wage increase.
“I want to be your champion,” the Huffington Post reports Clinton saying in a phone call to the group gathered in Detroit for a fast food worker’s convention. “I want to fight with you every day. I’m well aware that the folks on top already have plenty of friends in Washington, but we, together, will change the direction of this great country.”
Raising the minimum wage and strengthening overtime rules.Hillary believes we are long overdue in raising the minimum wage. She has supported raising the federal minimum wage to $12, and believes that we should go further than the federal minimum through state and local efforts, and workers organizing and bargaining for higher wages, such as the Fight for 15 and recent efforts in Los Angeles and New York to raise their minimum wage to $15. She also supports the Obama administration’s expansion of overtime rules to millions more workers.
Guarantee up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave.
Ensure at least a two-thirds wage replacement rate for workers.
Pay for paid leave by making the wealthiest pay their fair share—not raising taxes on working families.
“For many workers, staying home to take care of a sick child or an aging parent means losing a paycheck—or worse, even losing a job. That is an impossible choice we shouldn’t ask anyone to make—and yet American workers are forced to make it every day.”
Second, to cast this victory as one for which any candidate or official might “take credit” is crass exploitation. This is a victory for American workers and families. This was a grassroots effort, not the brainchild of any candidate for office. Bernie Sanders arrived in New York last week. Hillary has been here since 1999 and New Yorkers know her as a former senator who worked hard for their interests.
Look for Hillary at 1:10:48
It is admirable that both candidates campaigning under the Democratic Party umbrella share support for initiatives that affect the common good, but no single candidate can claim ownership of an issue. It is wrongheaded and divisive. Solutions differ, but the problems they seek to address are the same.
Today was a victory for New Yorkers, and Hillary celebrated, rightfully, with the people she supported who worked toward this. Any other narrative is self-serving nonsense, and Senator Sanders does need to take better control over how his surrogates and supporters represent his candidacy. The ship is not tight. If this is how he runs a campaign, how would he run the White House?
Hillary spoke at the Christian Cultural Center Church in the East New York section of Brooklyn today. News 4 New York’s Melissa Russo interviewed Hillary.
With New York’s primaries being held in just over two weeks, Hillary Clinton made an appearance in East New York. Melissa Russo talked to Clinton about defending her home turf.
Many sections of Brooklyn are upscale and hip. This particular section that Hillary chose to visit lost out on the “Brooklyn Renaissance.” Here’s some interesting background on East New York.
NEW YORK (WABC)
Current Presidential Candidate, former Secretary of State, future Commander-in Chief? Hillary Clinton hopes to become the first woman to serve as the nation’s President.
On Sunday, Clinton spoke to Eyewitness News about her bid for the White House.
Clinton, who is facing a tough fight ahead in the New York Primary on April 19th, took the chance to remind voters of the work she has done while Senator.
“We did a lot of great work across the state, and here in the city. Recovering from 9/11, the work I did to make sure our first responders, our construction workers, were given the healthcare they needed after their exposure on the pile,” Clinton said.
It has been quite a week! The YUUUGEST collective Democratic gasp escaped when the Republican front-runner said women should be punished for seeking abortions. More shockingly (if possible), he went on to assert that the male partner should not be held accountable.
Hillary Clinton fired back.
We can’t let someone with this much contempt for women’s rights anywhere near the White House.https://t.co/OjU9gRwsxo
The worst lesson we learned from this segment is that Trump must have cut school the day they taught separation of powers. The guy running for CEO of the executive branch of the most important and powerful government on the planet has no idea who legislates or exactly what the judicial branch does. Listen to him here.
In a damage control effort, the campaign threw water on a grease fire.
His spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said Trump meant that abortion laws won’t change until he’s president. “Then he will change the law through his judicial appointments and allow the states to protect the unborn,” she said.
If ever there was a moment for Democrats to assess the gravity of the 2016 election, now is the time.
Not only is the White House at stake, and the Supreme Court (as Hillary has eloquently asserted), but we need to break up the legislative gridlock. The best way to do that is to elect Hillary Clinton our nominee. She has the better chance of bringing down-ticket Dems into Congress on her coattails. She is also the only one committed to raising funds for down-ticket Dems as Bernie Sanders told Rachel Maddow this week that he has not decided to do so. He said “We’ll see.”
(On a side note, has anybody noticed the similarities between Bernie’s rhetoric and Trump’s? While “I don’t know” and “We don’t know” dominate Trump’s verbiage to the point that his supporter who punched and then threatened to kill a protester parroted those words, there is also a heavy dose of “We’ll see” and “We have to see” in there. Bernie uses the same dodges.)
We need all three branches working together. We have an advantage among Democrats since Hillary has a strong history of working across the aisle and of getting things done, and her endorsements by Super Delegates speak for themselves.
On Hillary’s side of the fence, the campaign came home to New York , and the Sanders camp, out of the box, demanded a New York debate and then pretended Hillary didn’t want to debate him there.
All evidence their "why won't you debate?!" attack is empty rhetoric. https://t.co/glqA6Twnfp
When you have a singularly qualified, experienced, and prepared candidate running a campaign filled with policy speeches, you would expect the media to notice the positions the candidate is taking on the issues and the rationale behind each position.
Since Hillary so overwhelms the media with her flowing stream of policies (two major policy speeches¹ this week while the others simply stump), they appear to have chosen to focus exclusively upon the briefest and least representative moments in her day and amplify them.
I realized there was a problem when my husband said, ‘how was your rally? I heard on the news Bernie supporters interrupted it.’ What? That’s what was reported?! Read on…
Commentary on yesterday’s Hillary rally at SUNY Purchase from someone who was actually there:
Why am I reading myriad articles reporting on the 40 minute speech with headlines, ‘Hillary Clinton rally interrupted by 20 Bernie supporters’ as if this is THE story? It’s not even A story.
In Madison WI after delivering her SCOTUS speech, we saw Hillary do a little shopping. (Oh yeah! The other Hillary scandal this week was that while home in NY she stopped off at Bergdorf’s for a really nice cut by master hair designer, John Barrett, whom she has visited in the past.)
When this photo was taken, Hillary had a clear rationale and plan for the necklace. She knew where she was going and why she needed this piece.

In seeking a response to the news, the national media caught up with the leading Democratic presidential candidate in New York, where she is spending three hours delivering speeches on foreign trade, gender equality protection, ensuring voting rights, climate change regulations, the prime lending rate, education investment, and encapsulation her eleven straight hours of congressional testimony of four months ago in ten minutes, an appearance which led Trump to characterize her as “lacking stamina.”
In her statement about the Hollywood for Trump Committee announcement, Hillary Clinton simply remarked, “Another cultural watershed.”
So! It has been quite a week as we gear up for Wisconsin, Wyoming, and the big one in New York.
Here’s a little of what’s ahead: Hillary will appear Tuesday April 5th at 11am on The View, and at 8pm that night, when the Wisconsin projections get suspenseful and your nerves can’t take it, she will join Black Girls Rock on BET.
Sporting an orange blouse with an orange necklace, Hillary Clinton rallied voters at Syracuse University today. One little pre-voter really liked the necklace. Afterwards she showed her team spirit at a popular local pizzeria.

@U.S. Senate: Time to ratify LOST!
"... ratify the Law of the Sea Convention, which has provided the international framework for exploring these new opportunities in the Arctic. We abide by the international law that undergirds the convention, but we think the United States should be a member, because the convention sets down the rules of the road that protect freedom of navigation, provide maritime security, serve the interests of every nation that relies on sea lanes for commerce and trade, and also sets the framework for exploration for the natural resources that may be present in the Arctic." -HRC, 06-03-12, Tromso Norway
