After a cursory trek through the White House website I could not find where anyone official had stated any of this. It is a story is making its way across the webs nonetheless. When this dinner occurred is not specified and neither is the venue, although it seems impossible that these particular figures could have gone anywhere public without being noticed, so it was probably in the White House. No specific topics are mentioned, yet Chris Matthews, who thinks he knows everything, spewed a litany of topics a little while ago as if he had been a fly on the wall.
Obama Has Dinner With Bill, Hillary Clinton

(AP Photo/Susan Walsh)WASHINGTON — The White House says President Barack Obama held a private dinner recently with former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest says the trio enjoyed the conversation but isn’t releasing details.
I am pretty sure I read it took place March 1st.

Oh, God. I don’t even remember. Pull down a list of headlines, remove all commas (since he never pauses), and you will about have it. Pure imagination.

I think it has become clear after the events of this week that Rand Paul will lead a new youth libertarian movement in the Republican party and will use that to catapult himself to the Republican party nomination. It is also clear that inevitably the electorate will be tired of Barack Obama in 2016 (whether things are going well or not) and will be looking for something new.
Hillary has to distinguish herself from the Obama administration. She has to talk about her record since law school of protecting civil liberties and civil rights. She has to support diplomacy instead of war or drone attacks. She has to support deficit reduction and support progressive initiatives through the capitalist enterprise.
Finally, this time, she has to embrace the narrative of being a woman and encouraging opportunities for women and girls. She should not shy away from her biography, she has had an extroardinary life.
Sexism stopped her in 2008. I fear it may happen again in 2016. But it doesn’t mean she shouldn’t try.

She really doesn’t have to do anything. She doesn’t have to run.

I need something more than a hint. Too many manipulators and control freaks out there. Dealt with a new one last night. But if she commits, I am there.

That’s nice, but why wait 4 years? Why not invite them before Hillary left her post? Considering all that Bill did for Obama during the Convention and how well Hillary did her job, a dinner invite should have been forthcoming way sooner. Whatever, there are many other people who would be thrilled to dine with the Clintons.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind, too.

In 4 years the Obamas couldn’t find the time to dine with the Clintons? To hell with both of them!!! It’s almost like they felt obligated to invite them after all Bill did for Obama to help him get reelected. In other words, it didn’t feel sincere. Maybe I’m wrong……..

I’m with you. As if this would have been a big deal for the Clintons anyway!

I agree 100% with you. Both Hillary and Bill had to rise above the past and be team players; that is real leadership. I am here for Hillary, we need leadership.
