CNN showed her at the state dinner, walking in with Charles. She looked so beautiful. Her hair was up and she was wearing this pale blue silk or satin dress. I NEED PICTURES.

Also, I don’t like it that Charles had to escort her in. Why not David Cameron if he was even there, or our old friend, David Miliband?

You’re correct, but she deems the Squire as a worthy escort, so I’ll leave that to her discretion. Besides, she didn’t have a choice as to Charles, and she does as to the Squire, so that makes it slightly different.

She was probably escorted by Charles because their ranks would match. Queen with O. Prince Phillip with Mrs. O. Those are the most important people matched. Then it would be the second most important male on the British side with the second highest ranking woman on the American side. However, if the Squire of State is not on this trip, who was Camilla paired with?

No, it seems it was a chubby british gentleman. Cameron, perhaps? It’s seems he’s the eighth member of the Queen’s table.
Aso back to the HC/PC pairing: Methinks it is quite appropriate for a future king to escort a future president 😉

2008 certainly is an interesting choice. The big news around this date in that year was Hillary’s RfK comment (not that I think she meant it in a dark way). Maybe having HRC on the London trip reminded him of the “good old days”.

Random tidbit: Our SOS actually has a distant royal (by marriage) relation. She is apparently the 9th cousin of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, wife of Prince Charles.
