The worst thing people do is to tell others what they “should” do.
Case in point.
Why is Nigerian author Chimamanda upset with Hillary Clinton?

Lagos, Nigeria (CNN)Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has ignited a debate about feminism and marriage following her conversation with Hillary Clinton at a literary event in New York.
The former US presidential candidate sat down to an interview with the novelist on Sunday after a lecture when Adichie asked about Clinton’s twitter bio.
“In your Twitter account, the first word that describes you is wife. And then I think it’s mom, and then it’s grandmother,” Adichie said at the PEN World Voices festival.
“And when I saw that, I have to confess that I felt just a little bit upset. And then I went and I looked at your husband’s Twitter account, and the first word was not husband.”
The novelist was referring to Bill Clinton’s twitter bio which reads,
“Founder, Clinton Foundation and 42nd president of the United States.”
You know what, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie? It is not your Twitter account. It is Hillary’s. She gets to identify in any way she wishes, and you don’t get to order her around.
Hillary Clinton is not a puppet. She is not a Democratic Party puppet, and she is not a feminist puppet. She is her own person, experienced, sober, and wise. She has the right to self-identify – as we all do.
Nothing irritates me more than people telling Hillary Clinton, who is brighter than most and has served longer and better than most, what she has to to.
No! She does not have to do what you want. She is not your slave.
She does not have to portray herself as you wish.
She is not your creation. This is not Westworld. You don’t get to program her.
Hillary is proud to be a mom and grandma. Primary to those is being a wife.
Let Hillary be Hillary, and please stop pestering her about what you want her to be.
You don’t own her.
I totally agree. When did feminism come to mean policing the behavior of other women? True feminism means respecting the choices women make whether we think we would have made the same choices or not. This reminds me of the women who consider themselves ardent feminists but HATE Hillary because she stays with Bill. I find this attitude baffling. I mean, what’s it to you? Hillary is the one who must live with him, not you. And I think Hillary did a good job of explaining her decision to stay in the marriage in “What Happened”. Not that she owes anyone a rationale. But it got me thinking. I have always said that if I my husband cheated on me, that would be the end. Since Hillary, I am not so sure. Marriage is complicated. And only the two people in it know if it’s worth it.

I’m not in the least surprised that shady Ronny Jackson was shady Donald Trump’s physician. They are the perfect pair. What I am trying to wrap my brain around is why President Obama kept this guy on through his entire two terms and why some of his aides defended Jackson a few months back when some on Twitter questioned the accuracy and professionalism of Jackson’s health report on Trump. According to Rachel Maddow’s reporting last night, at least some Obama aides were well aware of Jackson being drunk (and passed out!) while on duty. Apparently, no one did anything despite the obvious dangers. What if the president had a medical emergency while his physician was incapacitated? And I also thought about the scandal which would ensue if Hillary’s physician while she was travelling as SOS or POTUS was drunk on duty and her aides went into the medical bag to get what they needed. In Trump’s case, it’s SNAFU; in Obama’s case, it’s seriously weird. In Hillary’s case, it would be INSTANT MAJOR SCANDAL.

Sometimes people do have good ideas and are frustrated they can’t share them in a private way, so they say them publicly.
Hillary Clinton is a victim of her own popularity. Over the past couple of years I called the Hillary Clinton for President New York office and could not get through. I called on a Sunday and apparently there was some huge event that was gong on and they had just shut down the office. On a whim recently I called Donald Trump for President in 2020 and not only did I get through, I was encouraged to leave a message or idea. I actually left the idea. Maybe it was never heard, but why couldn’t I do that when Hillary Clinton was running for president, for Hillary Clinton’s people?
I would suggest that Hillary Clinton probably had 10 times or 100 times the people that wanted to suggest something and that level of overload can cripple a campaign.
Then there is the dilemma of long time supporters versus up and coming supporters. I have read that Hillary Clinton had many younger successful supporters that she just could not accommodate while giving access to her long time supporters. Eventually those younger supporters are wooed away and go elsewhere. I have read that is how Barack Obama gained some much needed support, he got supporters who could not find a place in any kind of a Hillary Clinton support circle.
That’s not a criticism, it just reminds us that if a candidate generates a million people who want to contribute ideas or suggestions, who can handle that? And when they are not able to find a way in, some will go elsewhere. It’s a crazy problem to have, being so popular that people’s opinions cannot be intaked.

I remember that event. It was held in a room on a different floor, and the office was closed.

Now Diamond and Silk are testifying before Congress. I swear this.movie where Donald Trump becomes President of the United States is the worst movie I ever saw.

And all over Twitter, supposedly reputable journalists are having Trumpian style tantrums because a Clinton (Chelsea!) is clapping back at misinformation which they are used to spewing with impunity.
Getting lost in the chaos–the Jill Stein campaign is refusing to turn over all documentation of its communications with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. This should be getting a lot of attention. If only reporters could tear themselves away from keratingate. It’s the new “But her emails!”

I think there has long existed below most of the radar a small band of women with some kind of obsession with Chelsea. Some of these women are Hillary supporters. Way back on the day of HRC’s SOS confirmation hearing there were a few running threads on Facebook. On one of them there was an extensive discussion of what kind of shampoo Chelsea uses and how much it costs. What is it about Chelsea’s hair? Not too long ago there was a thing about her shoes.
I love the way she takes these people on. She is not to be taken lightly.

I did not know that! In any case, Chelsea has mastered Twitter like no one else. If everyone on Twitter were like her, it would be a joy to go there. Unfailingly polite and calm. As many have pointed out, she slays the haters with kindness. I hope she doesn’t rule out a run for office at some point. And I never even considered that b4 the last few days watching her win Twitter.
