When the temperatures are just right overnight, you can wake up one morning after a dense dew or rain and see a plethora of mushrooms, some quite healthy and large, where the day before there were none. If the first two weeks of 2014 are any indication, we are likely to see a literary metaphor of this phenomenon around Hillary Clinton.
Last week in Politico, Maggie Haberman laced together a series of her 2013 articles and fashioned them into a heavily-laden “shadow campaign” which, of course, does not exist in actuality. When that canvas broke open, a mass of articles erupted based on her article or on portions of it just like mushrooms after an April shower.
This week, Politico unleashed what is fast becoming a torrent with an article by Amie Parnes and Jonathan Allen (in advance of their book, of course) about what they have dubbed a “hit list” despite the only quote from an unnamed Clinton insider calling it a a reward list (put together by staffers not by Hillary). The title alone betrays an attitude toward Hillary, and the mushrooms are sprouting.
What the meme will be next week or the week after is anyone’s guess save those who are planning it right now, but it appears that for the better part of 2014 there will be rains and ensuing mushrooms that feed on the moisture because there are some who cannot be satisfied with watching Hillary doing her splendid work in the here and now and seek somehow to part the cloak of invisibility she has drawn around her plans for the future.
I intentionally have not linked to these articles. If you want to see them, you will have to do your own search. Until Hillary is ready to make a statement about 2016, I continue to do what Hillary told us to years ago: watch and wait. If she wants mists and clouds around her agenda, I will not be seeding them for rain.
Those stories aren’t new either. the list was widely discussed already years ago. they must get a lot of hits when they run articles about our superstar.

That’s the only reason they are doing it since they have nothing to offer that they consider news.

It’s just feeding the trolls to sell books…but it’s scary what some people believe.

I’m more concerned with the pattern that is developing, the rhythm, and the way it spreads. MSNBC took the “hit list” story seriously for a chunk of today. When the words “vendetta” and “hit list” remain in the corner of the screen for 20 minutes, the message sinks in.

this is no coincidence. christie makes news for his administration’s bullying tactics (which are proven) so the media decides to say, “look, the clintons do it, too.” yawn. as if there’s some sort sort of equivalency here.
wake me up when they start saying something they haven’t said before about the clintons.

let me be clear, though. the clintons do know whom they can trust and who’s stabbed them in the back. i’m not saying they don’t move on (hillary and obama certainly did) but they also have long memories, as do most politicians.

Meh, I got my own list. They should have included Pelosi on that list. All campaigns have similar lists. If this was a “hit” list, where is the vendetta against their enemies? It’s been more than 5 years, who have they plotted against? Bill campaigned for people who supported Hillary in 2008, since she couldn’t do it herself until she stepped down as SOS. I thought that it was a classy thing to do.

That’s all the list is about. I have kept my own spreadsheets unsolicited by anyone and know who stayed with her to the bitter end. It was about supporting those people, but I thought I would say something because there are those out there who will turn anything Clinton into a thunderstorm, a shroud of secrecy, a vendetta, or whatever. Apparently this is to be the anti-Hillary plan for 2014 – to start a shower once a week that grows little seedlings or fungi all the week long.

The plan is to bring down Hillary by any means, just in case she runs for president. Today the Senate released their findings and blame the State Dept. for the lack of extra security in Benghazi. Here we go again……..

hillary’s already taken responsibility for benghazi. even the report commissioned by her didn’t mince words (although hillary was not directly implicated). both reports say any conspiracy theories are nuts, which we already knew, of course.

I know, but this new report fuels the RW fires. It’ll never end.

if hillary runs, she’ll have to deal with whatever they throw at her. she’s always known that, and will be prepared, as she always is!

Obviously that is the plan, perhaps I should have called this a strategy. I read the review last night. Hillary is not mentioned in the body of the review, only in the Republican “additional views” where they say she is ultimately the one responsible.

She already assumed this responsibility in October 2012. So what’s new here? Nothing, really.

the GOP acts as if she never made that “buck stops here” statement at all. their problem is, they want to make it seem as though she personally refused requests for added security, which never happened.

Yeah even though Chris Stevens didn’t want it.

He did not want ground troops. His idea was to have special ops come in to train local security which makes sense given that they were responsible for security outside the consulate and embassy walls.

Now we have that FOX story about Benghazi, claiming that aides to Hillary falsely reported that there was no evidence that it was a terrorist attack. Of course, one would expect FOX to attack Hillary.
Actually, I doubt any of us is surprised that some of the other media outlets have launched attacks, as well. We learned to expect the worst from them in 2008. Likewise, we learned that some Democrats who pretend to friends and supporters are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Actually, a better description of them would be dirt bags and pond scum in hand tailored suits and dresses.
The list non-news is just more tabloid journalism. As others have said, we Hillary supporters have the list of names of the traitors. Hell, they’re burned into our brains. I doubt we could forget the names if we tried.

How tame and actually sweet Hillary’s spreadsheet is containing names of politicians who stood by her through thick and thin and earned support, and the spreadsheets we all have of media personalities who acted as political assassins and will do so again in a NY minute,

The GOP and Fox thought Benghazi would be THE SCANDAL to scare Hillary away from running in 2016. Poor things …

Somewhere in a recent article I saw her name mentioned. It was about who might and might not be back in a new campaign and her name was the unlikeliest.

Good, I bet she and Donna Brazille are tied.

LOL!!! I don’t think Brazile was even mentioned – as in she was not on anyone’s radar to be included under any circumstances. The camel in the tent if she were.

She screwed up royally when he was in charge of Hillary’s campaign. She and Penn shouldn’t even be in the zip code of Hillary’s campaign headquarters, if she does run again.

We knew this was coming. It’s the news media trying to make news. Brazile is on the list I can be sure. She had no love for our girl. I remember Hillary supporters on the blogs called her consulting office and she was one nasty women.

She sent out that nasty email around June 2008 saying people were disturbing her at her office on campus and said “note to base: stay home.”

On a side note, I am reading “Duty” (Robert Gates’ new memoir). So far, it is interesting. I’d rather judge his portrayal of events from his words than all the crap in the media. Plus, I think it will be interesting to compare to what comes out from Hillary in June.
